Happy International Women’s Day 2026
Welfare Association Jared (WAJ) celebrated International Women’s Day 2026 under the HOPE’87 BeST – Beyond Survival Project in District Haripur, under the global theme “Give to Gain.” The day recognized the incredible strength, resilience, and contributions of women in every sphere of life.
At Welfare Association Jared (WAJ), we believe that empowering women is not charity; it is their fundamental right and the cornerstone of a stronger and more inclusive society.
Over the years, WAJ has implemented dozens of initiatives with the support of TDEA-FAFEN, PPAF, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Canadian Embassy Islamabad, the Federal Republic of Germany Foreign Office, HOPE’87, Global Affairs Canada, and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote women’s economic and political empowerment.
Through these initiatives, particularly the NIC Registration Initiative, WAJ has helped over 40,000 women across KP districts obtain official identification, enabling them to access civic rights and public services.
Women trained through WAJ programs have successfully contested local government elections, secured development funds, and gained skills in renewable energy and environmental rehabilitation.
In Mansehra, women trained for local government elections resulted in 44 women winning Village Council seats. In Haripur, training on accessing local development funds enabled one woman to secure €1,500, while 200 women and girls learned to use solar equipment and participate in environmental rehabilitation, strengthening both their livelihoods and their communities.
Our ongoing BeST – Beyond Survival Project with HOPE’87 in Haripur continues to support women through protection services, economic empowerment, skills development, entrepreneurship, and leadership in community decision-making, true examples of the spirit of “Give to Gain.”
Today, we reaffirm our commitment:
When women rise, communities rise. When we give, we all gain.
Let us continue to create spaces where women can lead, innovate, and thrive—because a strong woman builds a strong society and a strong nation.
