The Institute of Agro-Industry and Environment, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, organized an awareness walk, poster competition, and tree plantation campaign to commemorate World Environment Day 2026 under the global theme, “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.” The event was held under the guidance of Director Institute of Agro-Industry and Environment, Dr. Ghulam Hassan Abbasi, and Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Professor Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi. Addressing the participants, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran emphasized that environmental protection and climate resilience are collective responsibilities. He stated that universities must play a leading role in promoting environmental awareness, sustainable practices, and nature-based solutions to address climate challenges. He urged students and faculty members to actively contribute to a greener and healthier future through tree plantation and environmentally responsible behavior. The activities reflected the University's commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
