CUVAS Successfully Conducts 2nd DVM Entry Test for Fall 2026 Admissions

Bahawalpur, August 5, 2026: The Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS), Bahawalpur, successfully conducted the 2nd Entry Test for admission to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program for Fall 2026 today at the university campus. The test was held in a well-organized, transparent, and peaceful environment under the supervision of the university administration.

A large number of aspiring candidates from different districts of Punjab and other parts of the country appeared in the entry test. The university administration made comprehensive arrangements to ensure a smooth and fair examination process, including candidate guidance, security, seating arrangements, and transportation facilities.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. M. Tariq Javed, appreciated the dedicated efforts of the admission committee, faculty members, examination staff, security personnel, and all supporting teams for conducting the test in an efficient and transparent manner. He stated that CUVAS remains committed to selecting talented students purely on merit while maintaining the highest standards of fairness and academic excellence.

CUVAS Observes Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir with National Unity and Solidarity

Bahawalpur, August 5, 2026: The Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS), Bahawalpur, solemnly observed Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir to express unwavering solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and to reaffirm Pakistan's continued support for their internationally recognized right to self-determination. The event was organized by the Office of the Senior Tutor in accordance with the national observance of the day.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. M. Tariq Javed, Vice Chancellor, CUVAS, along with Deans, Directors, Heads of Academic and Administrative Departments, faculty members, officers of the Public Relations Office, administrative staff, and a large number of students. Participants demonstrated unity and national commitment by paying tribute to the courage, resilience, and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people.

Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. M. Tariq Javed stated that the people of Pakistan remain firmly committed to extending their moral, political, and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir. He emphasized that the Kashmir dispute is an internationally recognized issue whose peaceful resolution should be achieved in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

The Vice Chancellor further observed that educational institutions have a significant responsibility in cultivating awareness among students regarding matters of national importance and in promoting the principles of peace, justice, human dignity, and responsible citizenship. He encouraged students to remain informed, uphold national values, and contribute positively towards fostering unity and harmony within society.

The participants reaffirmed their steadfast solidarity with the people of Kashmir and expressed hope for the peaceful resolution of the longstanding dispute through dialogue and adherence to international law. The ceremony concluded with special prayers for lasting peace, stability, justice, and prosperity in the region, as well as for the continued progress and unity of Pakistan.

Vice Chancellor CUVAS Offers Condolences on the Demise of Malik Iqbal Channar

Prof. Dr. M. Tariq Javed, Vice Chancellor, Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS), Bahawalpur, visited Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar, Deputy Speaker, Punjab Assembly, to express his heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of his respected father, Malik Iqbal Channar, Member of the National Assembly (MNA) and former Federal Minister for Prisons.

During the visit, Prof. Dr. Tariq Javed conveyed his deepest sympathies to Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar and the bereaved family. He paid tribute to the late Malik Iqbal Channar for his valuable public service and prayed that Almighty Allah may forgive his shortcomings, grant him the highest ranks in Jannat-ul-Firdous, and bless his family with patience, courage, and strength to bear this irreparable loss.

The Vice Chancellor also expressed solidarity with the grieving family and prayed that they find comfort and peace during this difficult time.

CUVAS Holds 14th Syndicate Meeting; All Agenda Items Approved

The 14th Syndicate Meeting of the Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS), Bahawalpur, was held under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. M. Tariq Javed, Vice Chancellor, CUVAS. The meeting was attended by Syndicate members both physically and online to discuss important academic, administrative, financial, and policy matters of the University.

Among the members who attended physically were Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, Vice Chancellor, Government Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur; Mr. Malik Khalid Mehmood Babar, MPA (PP-251); Mr. Mujahid Kaleem (Wildlife Department); Prof. Dr. Khalid Mansoor (Dean FVS IUB); Prof. Dr. Faiz-ul-Hassan; Dr. Umer Naseer, Registrar, CUVAS; Dr. Qudratullah; Dr. Hamid Majeed; Mr. Sajid (Lecturer, CUVAS); and Mr. Qaisar Javed (Soil Research Institute).

The online participants included Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani, Vice Chancellor, UVAS Lahore; Prof. Dr. Rao Asif, Vice Chancellor, MNS University of Agriculture, Multan; Prof. Dr. Farzana Rizvi (UAF); Dr. Usman Tahir (L&DD); Mr. Kashif Bashir (Agriculture Department); Mr. Rizwan-ul-Haq (Finance Department); Syed Ali Akbar Zaidi (PHEC); Mr. Ahsan-ul-Haq (CDA); Dr. Rana Muhammad Tariq (Shamim Group); Prof. Dr. Saiqa Imtiaz, Ex-Vice Chancellor, GSCWU Bahawalpur, along with other respected members.

The Syndicate unanimously approved all agenda items presented during the meeting. A key agenda item was the approval of recommendations made by the recently held Selection Board regarding appointments to various teaching and non-teaching positions. These appointments, made through the first Selection Board conducted under the leadership of Prof. Dr. M. Tariq Javed, received formal approval from the Syndicate.

The Syndicate also approved the recommendations of the 14th Finance and Planning Committee (F&PC), including the University’s budget and other financial matters. The approval reflects the University’s commitment to sound financial planning, transparency, and sustainable institutional development.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. M. Tariq Javed thanked the Syndicate members for their valuable participation and support. He reaffirmed CUVAS’s commitment to academic excellence, transparent governance, quality research, and institutional development.

*CUVAS Holds 7th Selection Board Meeting*
The Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS), Bahawalpur, successfully held its *7th Selection Board Meeting* under the chairmanship of *Prof. Dr. M. Tariq Javed, Vice Chancellor, CUVAS* . This was the *first Selection Board meeting conducted under his leadership.*
The Board considered appointments for important positions, including *Registrar, Controller of Examinations,* and *Professor of Pathology/Diagnostic Laboratory.*

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Review Team successfully visited the Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (CUVAS), Bahawalpur, to evaluate the university's Computing Programs.

The **Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC)** of the **Cholistan University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (CUVAS), Bahawalpur**, successfully organized an informative seminar on **"Climate Change & Food Security: Challenges to Feed the Planet."**

The seminar was **chaired by Prof. Dr. M. Tariq Javed, Honorable Vice Chancellor, CUVAS**.
