A meeting was held with the Secretary of Agriculture Punjab, Mr. Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, and the Director General of Agriculture Extension, Chaudhry Abdul Hameed, at the Secretariat Office in Lahore. During the meeting, various issues faced by cotton ginners across Punjab were discussed in detail.
The discussion particularly focused on the issue of livestock license notices issued to ginners in Punjab. The Secretary of Agriculture Punjab assured that this matter would be resolved on a priority basis to alleviate the difficulties faced by the cotton ginning industry as soon as possible.
The meeting also emphasized the need for mutual cooperation and timely actions to resolve the challenges within the agricultural and cotton sectors.💫💫

Had a productive meeting with Federal Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb regarding the exemption of Sales Tax on Cotton Seed and Cotton Seed oil Cake. We highlighted the challenges faced by the cotton ginning and edible oil sectors and emphasized the importance of this relief for farmers, ginners, and the overall agricultural economy. We remain hopeful that the government will take positive steps to support the industry and strengthen Pakistan's cotton value chain.

*PCGA Delegation Meets Chairman Senate on Sales Tax Exemption Request.*

A delegation of the Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA), headed by *Chairman Mr. Sham Lal Manglani* , met with *Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani* and sought his support for the exemption of sales tax on Cotton Seed and Cotton Seed Cake in the Federal Budget 2026-27.

During the meeting, Mr. Sham Lal Manglani briefed the Chairman Senate on the difficulties being faced by the cotton ginning sector and stressed that the proposed tax relief would help reduce the financial burden on ginners, support farmers, and strengthen the overall cotton economy. Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani assured the delegation that their concerns would receive due consideration.

During the meeting Senior Vice Chairman Sheikh Fayyaz Ahmad, Former Chairmen Ch. Waheed Arshad, Mukhtar Khan Baloch & Sohail Mehmood Harral were also present.

Chairman Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA), *Mr. Sham Lal Manglani* , along with a delegation, met *Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah* , Senior Leader of PPP, *Kheal Das Kohistani,* Minister of State for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, *Aurangzeb Khan Khichi* , Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, and *Ramesh Lal* , MNA, to seek their support for the exemption of sales tax on cotton seed and cotton seed cake in the Federal Budget 2026-27.

The delegation emphasized that the proposed exemption would provide relief to farmers, ginners, and the livestock sector while contributing to the revival of Pakistan’s cotton economy.

The political leaders appreciated the importance of the issue and assured the PCGA delegation of their full support in pursuing this matter with the relevant authorities.

During these productive discussions, we highlighted the concerns of the cotton ginning industry regarding the existing sales tax on **Binola (Cottonseed) and Oil Cake** and explored potential tax policy reforms, business facilitation measures, and initiatives to support economic growth.

We emphasized the need for a more supportive and business-friendly tax framework to strengthen the cotton sector and enhance its contribution to the national economy. We look forward to positive developments and meaningful policy measures for the business community and all stakeholders of the cotton value chain.

During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held regarding the development and ongoing initiatives of Bahawal Gymkhana. The Commissioner, being the Patron-in-Chief of Bahawal Gymkhana, was briefed about the club’s facilities and future plans aimed at further improving the standards and services for its valued members.

Yesterday, it was a profound honor to host a farewell dinner for Mr. Mateen Sahab, Chief Commissioner FBR Bahawalpur, as he concludes a successful tenure. We also extended a warm welcome to the incoming Chief Commissioner FBR.
​A truly memorable evening spent in the company of esteemed colleagues and friends, including Mahmood Majeed Sahab, Ijaz Nazim Sahab, Burhan Sahab, Adeel Bhatti Sahab, and Tanseer Shah Sahab.
