*Update – Niat Valley Road*
The road has been successfully opened and restored for traffic on an emergency basis.
Yesterday at around 5:00 PM, the road was blocked due to heavy rainfall. Due to darkness, machinery could not be deployed at night.
Early this morning, the C&W Department mobilized a wheeled dozer and cleared the road at 3–4 major slide locations. Traffic has been temporarily restored through private land near the Agricultural University at Nagran along the main Niat Valley Road.
This is the 2nd road blockage within a week due to heavy rains in the area.
Departmental staff remain fully alert and are continuously monitoring the situation.
