ورلڈ بینک ٹیم کا داسو منصوبے کا تین روزہ دورہ مکمل، ترقیاتی اور فلاحی سرگرمیوں کا تفصیلی جائزہ لیا

ورلڈ بینک کی سوشل اینڈ انوائرمنٹ ٹیم نے داسو ہائیڈرو پاور پراجیکٹ کا تین روزہ جائزہ دورہ مکمل کر لیا، اس دوران منصوبے کے تحت جاری سماجی و ماحولیاتی حفاظتی اقدامات، کمیونٹی فلاحی سرگرمیوں اور ترقیاتی منصوبوں کا تفصیلی معائنہ کیا گیا۔
ورلڈ بینک کے وفد کو منصوبے کے مختلف تکنیکی، سماجی اور ماحولیاتی پہلوؤں پر جامع بریفنگ دی گئی۔
وفد نے سوشل اینڈ انوائرمنٹ مینجمنٹ فریم ورک، ماحولیاتی قوانین پر عملدرآمد، پیشہ ورانہ صحت و تحفظ، ٹریفک مینجمنٹ، حیاتیاتی تنوع کے تحفظ، اور اِن مائیگرنٹس مینجمنٹ و کمیونیکیشن پلان پر ہونے والی پیش رفت کا تفصیلی جائزہ لیا۔
ورلڈ بینک ٹیم کو زمین کے حصول، متاثرین کو معاوضوں کی ادائیگی، آبادکاری، روزگار کی بحالی، عوامی مشاورت، شکایات کے ازالہ کے نظام، جینڈر ایکشن پلان، اسکالرشپ پروگرامز اور لوکل ایریا ڈویلپمنٹ پروگرام کے تحت جاری فلاحی اقدامات سے متعلق بھی تفصیلی آگاہ کیا گیا۔
وفد نے منصوبے میں مانیٹرنگ اینڈ ایویلیوایشن سسٹمز، قانونی و ادارہ جاتی انتظامات، اور بین الاقوامی سماجی و ماحولیاتی معیارات پر عملدرآمد کے طریقہ کار کا بھی جائزہ لیا۔
دورے کے آخری روز ورلڈ بینک مشن نے مرکزی ڈیم سائٹ، متعلقہ انفراسٹرکچر، کنٹریکٹر کیمپس، پلوں اور لوکل ایریا ڈویلپمنٹ پروگرام کے تحت جاری مختلف ترقیاتی منصوبوں کا فیلڈ وزٹ کیا۔ اس موقع پر ڈائریکٹر جنرل سوشل سیف گارڈز بریگیڈیئر (ر) زاہد حسین، واپڈا حکام، کنسلٹنٹس اور متعلقہ ماہرین بھی وفد کے ہمراہ موجود تھے۔
ورلڈ بینک ٹیم نے منصوبے کے تحت جاری سماجی و ماحولیاتی اقدامات، کمیونٹی ویلفیئر پروگرامز اور حفاظتی معیارات پر مؤثر عملدرآمد کو سراہتے ہوئے مجموعی پیش رفت پر اطمینان کا اظہار کیا۔
یہ دورہ واپڈا اور ورلڈ بینک کے درمیان جاری مؤثر تعاون کا مظہر ہے، جس کا مقصد داسو ہائیڈرو پاور پراجیکٹ میں پائیدار ترقی، مقامی آبادی کی فلاح و بہبود، اور بین الاقوامی سماجی و ماحولیاتی معیارات پر مؤثر عملدرآمد کو مزید مضبوط بنانا ہے۔
World Bank Team Completes Three-Day Visit to Dasu Project, Conducts Detailed Review of Development and Welfare Activities
World Bank Mission Appreciates Progress in Ongoing Welfare, Resettlement, and Safeguard Measures at Dasu Project
Dasu, May 13, 2026:
The Social and Environment Team of the World Bank has completed a three-day review visit to the Dasu Hydropower Project, during which it conducted a detailed assessment of ongoing social and environmental safeguard measures, community welfare activities, and development initiatives under the project.
The World Bank delegation was given a comprehensive briefing on various technical, social, and environmental aspects of the project.
The delegation reviewed in detail the progress on the Social and Environmental Management Framework, implementation of environmental regulations, occupational health and safety, traffic management, biodiversity conservation, and the In-Migrants Management and Communication Plan.
The World Bank team was also briefed on land acquisition, compensation payments to affectees, resettlement activities, livelihood restoration, public consultations, grievance redress mechanisms, the Gender Action Plan, scholarship programs, and welfare initiatives under the Local Area Development Program.
The delegation further examined monitoring and evaluation systems, legal and institutional arrangements, and mechanisms for compliance with international social and environmental standards.
On the final day of the visit, the World Bank mission conducted a field visit to the main dam site, associated infrastructure, contractor camps, bridges, and various ongoing development schemes under the Local Area Development Program. During the visit, Director General Social Safeguards Brigadier (Retd.) Zahid Hussain, WAPDA officials, consultants, and relevant experts accompanied the delegation.
The World Bank team appreciated the effective implementation of ongoing social and environmental measures, community welfare programs, and safety standards under the project, expressing overall satisfaction with the progress.
This visit reflects the continued effective collaboration between WAPDA and the World Bank, aimed at strengthening sustainable development, improving the welfare of local communities, and ensuring effective compliance with international social and environmental standards in the Dasu Hydropower Project.
