Just went through this masterpiece. And I'll highly recommend this to those people who are feeling " " while sitting in their room lying on their bed.
Book carries IMAGISM,BLANK VERSES,CONDENCED IDEAS!
This shall be a holy book for those who really understand -post-modern writing and don't feel shame to talk about taboo topic because RUPI KAUR being so realistic portrays the broken self image of a girl in a very bold way as she was r***d at the age of 4.
There are 4parts of the book and each part carries alot of topic i.e Immigration(how it feels to be called an OUTSIDER),Sex(RAPE,BETRAYAL,NATURE OF ANY RELATIONSHIP.),Colonialism(MENTAL COLONISATION),Capitalism.
She was Clear in her language and thoughts more than ,drew each thing on the paper whatever was done to her body,soul and brain. Every taboo topic is done before and than has forbidden in the society not to talk over! In her perception when everyone does everything behind the door under the carpet than why to hide it!? Let's talk over it.
At the last which is favourite part of mine is the of based violence, she doesn't want to be equal she wants to be herself and she'll not allow anyone to make it something else!
After reading this artistic work, felt like I was so disconnected to myself before, now I feel as I have gathered myself which was scattered in many pieces___i have said to my mind,to my heart,to my soul.
