Punjab Food Authority is acting proactively to inspect and monitor the food outlets in large public interest. Pursuant to the guidelines, District Administration is also geared up to take across the board action.
However, it has been observed that some misunderstanding looms large in the public regarding de-sealing of the hotels/restaurants inspected by the officers of District Food Authority. In this regard, it must be noted that “SEALING” of a hotel/ restaurant DOES NOT mean “CLOSURE” of the hotel/restaurant etc. If found guilty, the Authority imposes heavy fine and gets undertaking for future conduct from the management of the hotel/restaurant. Once the codal formalities are fulfilled, the premises are de-sealed.
District Administration considers it expedient to request general public to strengthen it for collective action.
