Remembering a Visionary: Engr. Z.A. Nizami 🌟 Today, April 7, 2026, marks the 13th death anniversary of Z.A. Nizami (1931–2013), a brilliant town planner, educationist, and the "Architect of Modern Karachi"

🏙️ Master Town Planner: As the Director-General of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) in the 1980s, he successfully guided the city through 45 major modernization schemes He established the Karachi Water & Sewerage Board and Building Control Authority in 1979, and personally supervised the construction of the iconic Civic Center
🎓 Educational Pioneer: Deeply influenced by his own Aligarh Muslim University background, his crowning achievement was founding the Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) in 1994 As its first Chancellor, he built the institution on the pillars of pure merit, academic excellence, and immense respect for his faculty
📚 Scholar & Philanthropist: He was the author of "A Journey Through Muslim Architecture," a masterpiece that took 20 years of research He was also a generous philanthropist who allocated land for countless schools, mosques, and welfare institutions, including the Edhi Trust facility on the Super Highway
