The Sindh Healthcare Commission conducted a training session on Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS) for Clinical Diagnostic Laboratories and Collection Points for Chughtai Lab network Karachi region facilities.
The training was attended by 43 participants from the Karachi Main Laboratory and 30 Collection Points
During the interactive session, participants conducted self-gap assessments and discussed practical strategies to improve compliance with quality and regulatory standards. Chugtai team appreciated the informative session and reaffirmed commitment to further improve the quality of their collection points and diagnostic capacity.

Sindh Healthcare Commission has signed an MoU with leading pharmaceutical company Pharm Evo to extend the mutual goals of improving public health and quality of care by strengthening awareness and knowledge of healthcare professionals especially primary healthcare providers through trainings and CME activities. Pharm Evo will also promote and facilitate the registration and licensing of healthcare establishments, a legislative requirement of all health facilities. Health Education messages for public will be developed and disseminated in collaboration with SHCC as their CSR activity and mutual public health vision. Both CEOs shared their commitment to utilizing ethical modalities for engagement with the medical fraternity and improving quality of patient care.

SHCC's M&E team conducted monitoring and follow-up visits to Medicare Cardiac & General Hospital and Altamash General hospital to assess sustainability and compliance against randomly selected Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and the Government advisories, including CRVS (Civil Registration and Vital Statistics), BFHI, Anti-Rabies measures, and Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR). M&E team of SHCC appreciated the compliance with implementations of standards in the provision of quality healthcare services and patient safety.

SHCC launched Online Training Sessions on Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS) to strengthen compliance with healthcare quality standards across Sindh. The online format has been initiated to enhance accessibility and reach to district level and facilitate the healthcare professionals saving their valuable time and travel expenses. 6 online sessions were conducted for General Practitioners and Dental Practitioners from Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and Shaheed Benazirabad divisions on relevant standards
Through these interactive sessions, participants were guided on conducting self-gap assessments and engaged in constructive discussions on addressing areas requiring improvement. Participants highly appreciated the practical, supportive, and enabling nature of the training. Following the completion of these trainings, participating clinics will proceed towards the process of obtaining their Regular License.

The Directorate of Monitoring & Evaluation convened a meeting today to assess the compliance status of hospitals regarding disease data submission on the Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) portal. Representatives from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and three healthcare institutions, including Imam Clinic, Usman Memorial Hospital, and Chiniot General Hospital, participated in the session.
During the meeting, the Director Monitoring & Evaluation emphasized the compliance measures required from hospital managements and discussed strategies to ensure sustained future compliance. The importance of implementing hospital Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and strengthening the registration of birth and death data through the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) platform was also highlighted in the meeting.

SHCC officials visited District East and District Central, Karachi under the jurisdiction of Baloch Colony and Nazimabad police stations.
Two clinics were sealed, while two previously sealed outlets were re-sealed for violating closure orders. Additionally, five follow-up inspections confirmed that seals at previously targeted facilities remained intact. One warning was issued, and one other visit was recorded for verification.

SHCC conducted an important session on importance of hand hygiene in the overall Infection Prevention & Control interventions at the β€œHand Hygiene Day" celebration held at the NICVD. Dr. Zainab shared the SHCC standards on Hand Hygiene requirements for GP clinics to Hospitals. She shared the most common issues at HCEs of lack of hand-washing stations, inappropriate location of hand washing stations, lack of availability of soap/water, lack of required signages on hand hygiene and overall lax behavior of HCPs with overreliance on hand sanitizer and gloves. SHCC takes IPC as critical and mandatory standards for quality of care.
