Join us for a conversation with a critically acclaimed visual artist, Muhammad Zeeshan who will share his journey in the world of miniature art with a well-known art critic as well as a painter Quddus Mirza on Thursday, 21st May 2020 at 830pm on T2F Facebook Live.

About the Speakers:

Muhammad Zeeshan, born in 1980 in Mirpurkhas, Pakistan, received his BFA in Miniature Painting from the National College of Arts, Lahore, in 2003. Muhammad Zeeshan is a critically acclaimed visual artist who is currently an Adjunct Faculty of Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi, Pakistan. Since then Zeeshan has several galleries, Art Fair, museum and institutional exhibitions to his credit including exhibitions at Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, Herbert F. Johnson Museum at Cornell University, Abbot Hall Art Gallery at Kendal, Pacific Asia Art Museum at Pasadena, Art Gallery of Mississauga, British Museum, Gemak/Gemeente Museum, Fukuoka Asian Art Museum and Metropolitan Museum at Tokyo. He has been represented at the Dubai Art Fair, India Art Fair, Hong Kong Art Basel, and Pulse Art Fair. Zeeshan’s works are also a part of the permanent collection of British Museum, Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. He was also the curator for the Karachi Biennale in 2019.

Quddus Mirza is a painter, art critic and independent curator. He is the Professor of Fine Art and the Head of Fine Arts Department at the National College of Arts Lahore, where he studied BFA, before acquiring MA (Painting) from the Royal College of Art, London in 1991. Quddus Mirza was the first Pakistani who was accepted into the Painting School of prestigious Royal College of Art, London. On his return to Pakistan, he joined his alma mater and contributed in the field of art education, he has trained several generations of artists in Pakistan. He is the co-author of the book “50 Years of Visual Arts in Pakistan” and has extensively written essays on Pakistani art in different international catalogs and other publications. He is also the editor of the online art magazine “Art Now Pakistan”.
