The Directorate Sindh Education Policy Commission (SEPC) had the privilege of welcoming a distinguished academic delegation from AKU Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED) led by Dr. Sajid, Director Research & Policy, an eminent educationist and policy practitioner known for his contributions to the , the Education White Paper, and his role as a key contributor to Pakistanโs , along with around 20 MPhil Policy Studies research scholars.
The visit marked an important opportunity for academicโpolicy engagement, as the delegation explored the working and institutional role of the Directorate SEPC in shaping education policy for the province. DrAftab Ahmed Shaikh, Director SEPC, along with the SEPC team comprised on Ms Sadaf Raheem, Mr. Noman Shehzad, Ms Saima Lakho, Mr. Dhani Bux & Mr. Zulfiqar Ali, warmly received the guests and shared an overview of the Commissionโs work.
During the session, the SEPC team presented an overview of the working of the education sector, institutional role, and key achievements of SEPC. The delegation was also briefed on the Draft Sindh Education Policy CommissionโVersion III, which will guide consultative engagements and recommendations for the forthcoming Provincial Education Policy for Schools in Sindh.
The visit provided a valuable platform for academicโpolicy dialogue. The MPhil research scholars and faculty, including Dr. Sajid, along with the SEPC team, expressed their commitment to collaborate not only on the Provincial Education Policy for Schools in Sindh but also on sub-sectoral policies development, undertaking task-based assignments and remaining engaged in future policy initiatives.
