The federal cabinet on Tuesday approved the nationwide implementation of a Track and Trace System for pharmaceutical products and cleared amendments to the Drug Labelling and Packing Rules, 1978, in a move aimed at eliminating counterfeit and substandard medicines from the market.

*Date:* 23-05-2026

Under the supervision of the Chief Drugs Controller Punjab, the Drugs Control Squad Faisalabad raided a double-story house in Kehkashan Colony, Madina Town, Faisalabad.

*Action Taken:*
- Spurious and misbranded therapeutic goods recovered and seized, including Colic Drops, Colic Syrup, Kerotanil Tabs, Famcon Caps, Famcordial Syrup, and Morigella Capsules
- Raw materials, packaging material, empty bottles, labels, filling machine, weighing balance, drop nozzles, and empty capsule shells also seized
- Samples of 6 different therapeutic goods collected on Form 4 for laboratory analysis

The premises have been *locked and sealed*, and the case has been forwarded to the DQCB for FIR registration.
