Things to tell yourself when you are about to Abandon yet another book before finishing!
Are you prone to leaving in the middle without even reaching the middle?
We’ve got you!
Let’s finish that book!
1. You can do it! Just Keep Reading. Have faith in yourself. Be kind and allow yourself to read at your own pace. You are not in competition with anyone!
2. Books, just like us, need to breathe to stay alive.
3. Oh you peeked! Or read the spoilers? Nope, not enough. It’s juicier knowing exactly HOW It happened! Go read that book! It’s worth it! It is so worth it! Knowing what happens at the end is so worth it!
4. Books Have feelings! Yes. They are as living, breathing works of art as we are by whatever ultimate Creator you believe in. They are creations of the writer and they come alive in your mind when you begin reading! Don’t leave them hanging in there.
5. Free me from the GUILT. Yes, that’s right, who wants to carry the weight of all those half-read stories? Not me!
6. A Book a month keeps ignorance (and your photo) (your academic excelled cousin) away.

Books are like a Time Machine
Reading is like traveling through time, through a parallel universe, traveling through each other’s minds while sitting in one place. Who needs time machines when we have books that are our portal into the past? A chance to live and relive the past.

The Origin of Books
A long time ago people realized the silence of the universe as they listened to the whooshing winds, rustling grass, hummingbirds, buzzing bees, echoes of mocking birds, howling beasts, and the endless abyss of the darkest nights. They had nothing to hold each other except themselves. Everyone was scared of breaking the spell of the silence that had their lips sealed and tongues chained. They couldn’t escape the horrors of the night and huddled together as night invaded them from all sides.
And slowly, very slowly, they dared break the spell. They began to speak, huddled together around the fire, they began sharing whatever they knew.
This is where they began to speak of each other, what they knew, their experiences, hardship, struggle and even joys. They tainted the night with different colors of stories until it would break into beautiful dawn with profound hues. They realized it was only stories that could hold up against the horror of the night and its silence. Stories brought them comfort, stories brought them peace because stories brought them together.
Over time as stories passed from mouth to mouth, with the evolution of mankind and his tools, Man began to save these stories in wood, stone, and bone; and in time, on paper.
Today, the essence of the stories remains the same, the same comfort, the same profound grains in the form of the word; only the medium has changed. We are in an extremely pivotal era, where stories are flying all around us, traveling by mouth, by audio/visual performances, by page, by digital screens. The stories are all around us, it is only for us to look around and marvel at their wonder.

Books are a Treasure Trove.
Reading stories brings to us; different experiences, grains of wisdom, sharing and learning from and with each other, a peek at different cultures and eras, an amalgam of all the voices, and a record of the human spirit. A reader lives a thousand lives through books.

7 Ways you can start completing the books you started and build that habit of reading like you always wanted to!
It all starts with the book in your hand. Is it the right book? Is it the right partner for this amazing journey? Books are like companions or guides to an amazing journey, they show you around, they whisper and telltale amazing stories, facts and anecdotes. Like a trip companion they are shozwhat makes the journey so amazing! So, it’s important to choose one you are most comfortable with, but enough to push you out of your comfort zone to grow.
Most beginner readers have not yet found their preferred genre yet, so it takes some time trying out different genres to figure out what you like best or even which combinations you enjoy the most!
But no worries here our tips to help you find the perfect match!
1. Start with your interests. Are you a sports enthusiast? An Amateur chef? Or Scientist? You can be anything and still want to read! Are you just in for a laugh? Or light romance?
2. Like with Genre and category, reading level is also important. If you are a second language learner or a beginner in the field, it’s okay to read from beginner level books. Don’t jump straight into Classics, or Higher tier books. Go for easier, simpler ones.
3. Don’t fall for the Size fallacy! Allow us to explain, when you begin reading, be kind and don’t go hard on yourself. You do not have to begin with that 6inch high spine by 4kg. Just start light. Even as light as short stories and children’s literature with pictures and minimum word count.
4. Don’t limit yourself. Read anywhere, anything you like! Initially the goal is to finish what you started, to finish that story or nonfiction piece, so it can be as short as a magazine article, or a short story from a collection.
5. Don’t give up! Yes, that’s right, keep trying, it’s okay if you didn’t like the first, second or even third book you picked up, keep trying till you find the right one!
6. You do not have to finish it one sitting! Read bit by bit.
7. Read every night. A much better way to fall asleep than staring at the screens!

Tip 4

It’s OKAY to Read Reviews! While you should never judge a book by its cover or other people’s opinion alone, a good review (with the slightest spoilers) can give you a heads-up to decide whether you want to read that book or not.
