ab to provide access to quality education to the out of school children in Punjab. Program Monitoring and Implementation Unit (PMIU) was created to monitor the implementation of different components included in the PESRP such as teacher recruitment, girl’s stipend program, school council reconstitution, incentive-linked teacher bonuses etc. PMIU’s primary responsibility is to ensure that Monitoring and Evaluation Assistants (MEAs) carry out physical inspections every month of the public schools in Punjab. Moreover PMIU has to coordinate with district governments for ascertaining their requirements for PESRP activities, transferring funds for relevant activities, and obtaining periodic progress reports,
