20-07-2026: Anti-timber Smuggling Drive Update

Under the supervision and directions of the Divisional Forest Officer, Patrol Squad Upper Hazara, the field staff conducted a successful intelligence-based raid in Bandigo Battagram, resulting in the seizure of 09 Chir Pine logs that were being prepared for illegal transportation.

The operation reflects the unwavering commitment of the Patrol Squad Upper Hazara to safeguarding forest resources and combating illegal forest offences.

The Patrol Squad Upper Hazara remains resolute in ensuring strict enforcement of the relevant forest laws through round-the-clock surveillance, intelligence-led operations, and sustained anti-smuggling efforts aimed at protecting the province's valuable forest assets.

The Worthy Chief Conservator of Forests, Northern Forest Region-II, Mr. Asghar Khan, visited the field formations of the Patrol Squad, Upper Hazara Forest Circle, to review the ongoing anti-timber smuggling operations and assess the operational preparedness of the field staff.

During the visit, he personally interacted with the raiding teams and commended their unwavering commitment, professionalism, and dedicated efforts in combating the menace of illegal timber smuggling across the region.

The Worthy Chief Conservator of Forests further directed the field staff to remain on high alert, maintain the highest level of vigilance, and ensure uninterrupted round-the-clock patrolling and surveillance to effectively deter and prevent illegal forest activities. He also assured the field staff of his full support, facilitation, and cooperation in the discharge of their official duties, reaffirming the department's commitment to strengthening forest law enforcement and the protection of natural resources.

Public Awareness Initiative Against Timber Smuggling

In continuation of the ongoing anti-timber smuggling drive, the Patrol Squad, Upper Hazara Forest Circle, Mansehra, installed public awareness posters at the Chinarkot Interchange and Kuza Banda Interchange to educate and sensitize the general public regarding forest offences, particularly the illegal transportation and trade of timber and other forest produce.

The initiative aims to encourage citizens to promptly report any incidents of illegal forest activities to the Forest Department, thereby promoting public participation in the protection and conservation of forest resources. Such awareness campaigns form an integral part of the Department's strategy to strengthen vigilance, enhance community engagement, and effectively curb forest crimes across the region.

In compliance with the directives of the Secretary, Climate Change, Forestry, Environment & Wildlife (CCFE&W) Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and under the guidance of the Chief Conservator of Forests, Northern Forest Region-II, and the Conservator of Forests, Upper Hazara Forest Circle, the field staff of the Patrol Squad Upper Hazara, under the supervision of the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), successfully executed an anti-smuggling operation, resulting in the seizure of 04 logs and 01 scant of Blue Pine (Kail).

The recovered timber was taken into official custody and safely transported to the Central Sale Depot, Mansehra, for further legal proceedings.

Anti-Smuggling Drive Update

During the ongoing anti-smuggling drive, the staff of Patrol squad conducted intensive snap checking, surveillance, and patrolling at Hazara Express way to curb the menace of illicit timber smuggling and the illegal movement of other forest produce.

The operation was carried out to strengthen enforcement of forest laws, deter illegal activities, and ensure the protection and conservation of valuable forest resources. Such operations will continue on a regular basis to safeguard the forests and maintain strict vigilance against forest-related offences.

Retirement Ceremony of Mr. Muhammad Umar Khan, Deputy Ranger 30-06-2026

Mr. Muhammad Umar Khan, Deputy Ranger, Patrol Squad Upper Hazara Forest Circle, Mansehra, has retired from the Climate Change, Forestry, Environment and Wildlife Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, after rendering more than 39 years of dedicated, sincere, and meritorious service to the department.

On this occasion, a retirement ceremony was organized in his honour, which was attended by forest officers and officials, political representatives, his relatives, friends, colleagues, and well-wishers. Their gracious presence made the event truly memorable and reflected the respect and admiration earned by Mr. Umar Khan throughout his distinguished career.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended the ceremony and contributed to making the occasion a success.

We sincerely thank Mr. Muhammad Umar Khan for his invaluable services to the department and wish him a healthy, happy, and fulfilling retirement.

حکومتِ خیبر پختونخوا کے گڈ گورننس روڈ میپ پر عملدرآمد اور سیکرٹری محکمہ موسمیاتی تبدیلی، جنگلات، ماحولیات و جنگلی حیات خیبر پختونخوا کی ہدایات کی روشنی میں، چیف کنزرویٹر آف فاریسٹز اصغر خان اور کنزرویٹر آف فاریسٹز سلیم مروت کی نگرانی و رہنمائی کے تحت، ڈویژنل فاریسٹ آفیسر پٹرول اسکواڈ اپر ہزارہ فاریسٹ سرکل مانسہرہ اور ان کی ٹیم نے ایک بدنام زمانہ لکڑی اسمگلر کے خلاف جاری قانونی کارروائی کو مؤثر انداز میں منطقی انجام تک پہنچاتے ہوئے ایک اہم کامیابی حاصل کی ہے۔

اس مقدمے کی سماعت کے دوران معزز سپیشل فاریسٹ مجسٹریٹ (AAC-I) مانسہرہ نے ملزم وقار احمد ولد ارشد، سکنہ پریہنہ مانسہرہ کی درخواستِ ضمانت مسترد کرتے ہوئے اسے چودہ روزہ جوڈیشل ریمانڈ پر جیل بھیجنے کے احکامات جاری کر دیے۔

سرکاری ریکارڈ کے مطابق مذکورہ ملزم جنگلاتی جرائم میں ملوث ایک عادی مجرم اور بین الصوبائی لکڑی اسمگلنگ نیٹ ورک کا فعال رکن ہے۔ اس کے خلاف سیرن فاریسٹ ڈویژن، لوئر ہزارہ پٹرول اسکواڈ اور اَگرور تناؤل فاریسٹ ڈویژن میں متعدد ڈیمیج رپورٹس اور جنگلاتی مقدمات درج ہیں۔ مزید برآں، ملزم اس سے قبل انسدادِ دہشت گردی ایکٹ کے تحت درج ایف آئی آر کے سلسلے میں تیس روز قید بھی کاٹ چکا ہے، جو اس کے مجرمانہ ریکارڈ کی سنگینی کو مزید واضح کرتا ہے۔

خیبر پختونخوا کے جنگلات صوبے کا سبز سرمایہ، ماحولیاتی تحفظ کی ڈھال اور آنے والی نسلوں کی امانت ہیں۔ لکڑی کی غیر قانونی کٹائی اور اسمگلنگ نہ صرف قومی معیشت کو نقصان پہنچاتی ہے بلکہ ماحولیاتی توازن، حیاتیاتی تنوع اور موسمیاتی استحکام کے لیے بھی سنگین خطرات پیدا کرتی ہے۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ محکمہ جنگلات نے جنگلاتی جرائم کے خلاف زیرو ٹالرنس پالیسی اختیار کر رکھی ہے۔

محکمہ جنگلات خیبر پختونخوا اس عزم کا اعادہ کرتا ہے کہ جنگلاتی وسائل کے تحفظ، لکڑی اسمگلنگ کی بیخ کنی اور منظم جنگلاتی جرائم میں ملوث عناصر کو قانون کے کٹہرے میں لانے کے لیے تمام دستیاب قانونی و انتظامی وسائل بروئے کار لائے جائیں گے۔ غیر قانونی طور پر جنگلاتی پیداوار کی کٹائی، نقل و حمل یا تجارت میں ملوث کسی بھی فرد یا گروہ کے ساتھ کوئی رعایت نہیں برتی جائے گی اور ان کے خلاف قانون کے مطابق سخت ترین کارروائی عمل میں لائی جائے گی۔
