Anti-Poaching Raid in Shaheed Banda, Lower Subdivision

The DFO Mohmand himself, along with Wildlife staff, conducted a raid in Shaheed Banda, Main Kaly, Lower Subdivision against illegal falcon hunting.
During the operation, an individual involved in the illegal trapping of falcons was apprehended. Legal proceedings were initiated and the offender was challan under the relevant provisions of the Wildlife and Biodiversity Act, 2015.
The Mohmand Wildlife Division staff remains committed to taking strict action against poaching and ensuring the protection of wildlife and endangered species in District Mohmand.

Coordination Visit for Wildlife Protection

On the instructions of DFO Wildlife Mohmand, Range Officer Wildlife upper range visited Ghakhi Check Post to strengthen coordination with Police Department.
Meetings were held with SI Khalid and ASI Rahmat Ullah to discuss joint enforcement and wildlife laws.
Both departments agreed for joint checking and prompt action against illegal wildlife hunting and trapping.

🇵🇰🌿 Independence Day Celebrated with a Green Commitment in Mohmand
Mohmand Wildlife Division, together with its dedicated field staff and local community, commemorated Pakistan’s Independence Day with national spirit and a strong commitment to environmental stewardship.
As part of the celebrations, a plantation drive was inaugurated to restore wildlife habitats, enhance green cover and strengthen biodiversity conservation across the area.
Despite limited resources, the initiative reflects the institution’s unwavering resolve to combat the impacts of climate change, restore degraded habitats, protect wildlife and biodiversity, and engage local communities in conservation efforts.

A team led by DFO Wildlife Mohmand, Mr. Tariq Wazir, along with the field staff of Prang Ghar Range, carried out the spreading of speedballs in selected areas of Prang Ghar.
Speedballs, consisting of seeds of fodder, grains, and other wildlife-friendly species, were strategically placed in different habitats to ensure availability of food for wild birds and small mammals, especially during periods of food scarcity.
The activity covered key wildlife habitats, grazing areas, and water points within the range to maximize benefits for local fauna.
Objectives
1. To improve and supplement natural food sources for wildlife in Prang Ghar area.
2. To enhance habitat quality and support biodiversity conservation.
3. To engage field staff in on-ground conservation activities.
4. To raise awareness among local communities about the importance of wildlife and habitat management.
Outcome
The activity was successfully completed. The field staff ensured proper distribution of speedballs across the designated areas. This initiative will contribute to improved food availability for wildlife and will support the long-term conservation goals of the Mohmand Wildlife division.

Upon the direction of worthy Mr. Tariq Wazir, Divisional Forest Officer Wildlife Mohmand, the Social Organizer of MAIP Project conducted an awareness session with the local _hunder_ of Aqrabdag, Ekkaghund.

The objective of the session was to sensitize the local community regarding wildlife conservation, protection of natural habitats, and prevention of illegal hunting and poaching in the area.

During the session, participants were briefed on the importance of biodiversity, role of community in conservation, and relevant wildlife protection laws.
The local hunder appreciated the initiative of the Mohmand Wildlife division and assured full cooperation for the protection and conservation of wildlife in their area.

Mr. Tariq Wazir, Divisional Forest Officer, Wildlife, Mohmand distributed uniforms among the field staff of Mohmand Wildlife Division.

The purpose of uniform distribution was to ensure proper identification, discipline, and professional appearance of the field staff during official duties, patrolling, and community engagements.

While addressing the staff, DFO Mr. Tariq Wazir emphasized the importance of dedication, punctuality, and commitment to the protection and conservation of wildlife resources in District Mohmand. He further urged the field staff to work actively against illegal hunting, poaching, and to create awareness among local communities regarding wildlife protection laws.

The field staff expressed gratitude to the DFO for providing uniforms and assured their full cooperation in achieving the conservation targets of the division.

Upon the directions of the Divisional Forest Officer Wildlife, Mohmand, a community awareness session was conducted by the Social Organizer Mr. Sikandar Khan of the MAIP Project in Prang Ghar.

The objective of the session was to *mobilize the local community regarding the protection and conservation of wildlife resources in the region. A large number of community members, elders, youth, and local stakeholders participated in the session.
During the session, key points highlighted included:
1. Importance of Wildlife
2. Threats to Wildlife
3. Legal Aspects
4. Community Role
The participants appreciated the initiative and assured their full cooperation in *protecting wildlife resources* and discouraging illegal hunting in their area.

Public Awareness Notice

Following information circulating on different social media platforms and among the public regarding the presence of an alligator in a canal, the DFO Wildlife Mohmand has clarified that there is no evidence of an alligator's existence as Pakistan has no suitable natural habitat or environmental conditions for alligators.

To verify the reports, a joint inspection was conducted by the staff of the Wildlife Department, Rescue 1122, and the Irrigation Department. After a thorough inspection of the canal and its surrounding areas, no signs or evidence of any alligator were found.

The public is requested not to spread or believe unverified information and to rely only on official updates from the concerned departments.

As directed by DFO Mohmand Mr. Tariq Wazir, the Social Organizer of the MAIP Project conducted an awareness session with the local community of Sro Kaly. The session focused on the protection and conservation of wildlife resources in the area. Community members were briefed on key threats to local fauna, importance of habitat protection, and their role in preventing illegal hunting and reporting wildlife offenses. Furthermore shade light on heat wave and it's impact on wildlife resources.

The community showed positive response and committed to support conservation efforts in Sro Kaly.
