گزرے وقت کے اساتذہ کا شکریہ

پرانے وقتوں کے اساتذہ کی یاد میں ایک عجیب سی کسک اور مٹھاس ہوتی ہے۔ یہ یاد اکثر تب آتی ہے جب اچانک چاک کی خوشبو محسوس ہو، سکول کی گھنٹی کی گونج سنائی دے، یا وہ لمحہ یاد آئے جب ہم خاموش بیٹھے ہوتے تھے اور کوئی (ہمارا استاد) ہم پر یقین رکھتا تھا کہ ہم کچھ بن سکتے ہیں۔ یہ یاد کسی "بہتر" دور کی نہیں، بلکہ ایک "سادہ" دور کی ہے، جہاں پڑھانا ایک مشینی عمل نہیں بلکہ انسانیت کا رشتہ تھا اور سیکھنا دل سے جڑا ہوتا تھا۔
یہاں ان اساتذہ کی وہ خوبیاں ہیں جنہیں ہم آج بہت شدت سے محسوس کرتے ہیں:
1. ان کا ایک جیسا رویہ (مستقل مزاجی)
وہ ہر روز ایک ہی انداز میں کلاس میں آتے تھے۔ وہی آواز، وہی امیدیں، اور وہی ٹھہراؤ۔ اس دنیا میں جہاں ہر چیز بدلتی رہتی تھی، ان کا رویہ نہیں بدلتا تھا۔ ان کا یہ ٹھہراؤ ہمیں سکول میں محفوظ ہونے کا احساس دلاتا تھا۔
2. بے عزت کیے بغیر اصلاح کرنا
غلطی پر وہ تماشہ نہیں بناتے تھے۔ بس ایک نظر، تھوڑی سی خاموشی، یا دھیمے لہجے میں یاد دہانی کافی ہوتی تھی۔ ان کی ڈانٹ میں سختی ضرور تھی لیکن ہماری عزتِ نفس محفوظ رہتی تھی۔ وہ ہمیں ذمہ داری سکھاتے تھے، شرمندہ کیے بغیر۔
3. ہاتھ سے لکھی ہوئی اصلاح
کاپیوں پر لال روشنائی، ٹک کے نشانات اور سائیڈ پر لکھے ہوئے چھوٹے نوٹ۔ ان کی قلم کی ہر لکیر ذاتی محسوس ہوتی تھی۔ ہمیں پتا ہوتا تھا کہ کسی انسان نے واقعی ہمارا کام پڑھا ہے، صرف نمبر نہیں لگائے۔
4. ہر بچے تک پہنچنے کی کوشش
وہ بھانپ لیتے تھے کہ کون سا بچہ پیچھے رہ گیا ہے اور پھر بغیر کسی شکایت کے اپنی رفتار دھیمی کر لیتے۔ کمزور بچوں کی مدد اکثر کلاس کے بعد خاموشی سے کی جاتی، جس کا نہ کوئی معاوضہ ملتا اور نہ ریکارڈ بنتا، صرف اس لیے کہ انہیں پرواہ تھی۔
5. ان کا پرسکون رعب
انہیں اپنی بات منوانے کے لیے چیخنے کی ضرورت نہیں پڑتی تھی۔ ان کی موجودگی، ایک نظر، یا پیار سے پکارا گیا نام ہی کافی تھا۔ ان کی عزت ڈر کی وجہ سے نہیں بلکہ ان کے کردار کی وجہ سے کی جاتی تھی۔
6. اپنے عمل سے تربیت کرنا
وہ لیکچر دے کر نہیں بلکہ کر کے سکھاتے تھے۔ وقت پر آ کر "وقت کی پابندی" سکھائی، اپنی لاعلمی کا اعتراف کر کے "سچائی" سکھائی، اور طالب علموں کے ساتھ سیکھ کر "عاجزی" سکھائی۔
7. خاموشی اور جدوجہد پر صبر
وہ ہمیں سوچنے کا وقت دیتے تھے۔ وہ خاموش وقفوں سے گھبراتے نہیں تھے۔ وہ سمجھتے تھے کہ سیکھنا کبھی کبھی سست عمل ہوتا ہے اور اس میں وقت لگتا ہے۔
8. محفوظ حدود
وہ ہمارے دوست بننے کی کوشش نہیں کرتے تھے، وہ رہبر تھے۔ یہ فاصلہ ہمیں ٹھکرائے جانے کا نہیں بلکہ محفوظ ہونے کا احساس دیتا تھا اور ہمیں صحیح اور غلط کی تمیز سکھاتا تھا۔
9. نتیجے سے زیادہ کوشش کی قدر
وہ صرف صحیح جواب پر شاباش نہیں دیتے تھے بلکہ کوشش کرنے پر بھی سراہتے تھے۔ ان کے نزدیک پرفیکشن (کمال) سے زیادہ پروگریس (بہتری) اہم تھی۔ بہت سے طالب علموں کے لیے وہی پہلی جگہ تھی جہاں صرف ان کی "کوشش" کو بھی اہمیت دی گئی۔
10. کلاس روم کے چھوٹے چھوٹے آداب
استاد کے آنے پر کھڑے ہونا، بورڈ صاف کرنا، کاغذ آگے پاس کرنا۔ یہ چھوٹے چھوٹے کام ہمارے عام دنوں کو معنی دیتے تھے اور بغیر کسی تقریر کے ہمیں احترام سکھاتے تھے۔
11. سالوں بعد بھی یاد رکھنا
جب دہائیوں بعد ان سے ملاقات ہوتی اور وہ ہمارا نام بالکل صحیح پکارتے۔ وہ یہ نہیں پوچھتے تھے کہ ہم نے کیا "حاصل" کیا، بلکہ پوچھتے کہ ہم "کیسے" ہیں۔ ان کا یاد رکھنا اس بات کا ثبوت تھا کہ ہم ان کے لیے اہم تھے۔
12. ان کی خاموش قربانیاں
اپنی جیب سے خریدے گئے ایکسٹرا نوٹ بکس، رات گئے تک سبق تیار کرنا، اور خاموشی سے گھر کی پریشانیاں ساتھ لانا۔ ہم ان قربانیوں کو تب نہیں سمجھ سکے، لیکن آج جب ہم بڑے ہو گئے ہیں تو سمجھ آتی ہے۔
13. پڑھانے کو "مشن" سمجھنا
وہ کبھی تھکاوٹ یا کم تنخواہ کا رونا نہیں روتے تھے۔ وہ پڑھاتے تھے کیونکہ انہیں یقین تھا کہ تعلیم زندگیاں بدل سکتی ہے، اور وہ روزانہ اس یقین کے ساتھ جیتے تھے۔
14. جذباتی تحفظ
سکول ہمارے لیے دوسرے گھر جیسا تھا۔ شاید پرفیکٹ نہیں، لیکن مضبوط۔ ایک ایسی جگہ جہاں اگر آپ اداس ہوں یا غیر حاضر ہوں، تو کوئی نوٹس لیتا تھا۔
15. ان کے اسباق کی گونج
آج بھی جب ہم اپنے بچوں کی اصلاح کرتے ہیں، ٹیم کو لیڈ کرتے ہیں یا مشکل فیصلے لیتے ہیں، تو ان کی آواز ہمارے ذہن میں گونجتی ہے۔ کلاس روم ختم ہونے کے برسوں بعد بھی ان کا اثر باقی ہے۔
پرانے اساتذہ کی کمی محسوس کرنا دراصل اس دور کی یاد ہے جب تعلیم کا عمل آہستہ، قریب اور گہرے رشتوں پر مبنی تھا۔ یہ یادداشت میں لپٹی ہوئی شکرگزاری ہے۔
اور شاید سب سے خوبصورت بات یہ ہے: آج کے بہت سے اساتذہ بھی انہی خوبیوں کو خاموشی اور ایمانداری سے آگے بڑھا رہے ہیں، ایک ایسی دنیا میں جو ش*ذ و نادر ہی رک کر ان کی تعریف کرتی ہے۔
یاد رکھنا دراصل عزت دینا ہے...
