Meeting Held Between the European Union Delegation and the KP Prisons Department
A meeting was held at Serena Hotel, Peshawar, between a delegation of the European Union, headed by Ms. Ouna Kelly, accompanied by Dr. Sebastian Lorien, and the Inspector General of Prisons, Mr. Rehan Gul Khattak. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Mudassir Javed, CEO of SHARP Pakistan, Deputy Inspector General (Judicial & Security) Mr. Amin Shoaib, and Deputy Inspector General (Finance & Planning) Mr. Hashmat Ullah.
The Inspector General of Prisons welcomed the delegation and acknowledged the European Union's continued support for the reform and digitalization initiatives undertaken by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Prisons Department. He briefed the delegation on the ongoing reforms being implemented within the department under the directives of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Sohail Khan Afridi, and the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Prisons, Mr. Iftikhar Ullah Jan.
The Inspector General also apprised the delegation of the training programs being conducted for prison staff at the Prisons Staff Training Academy, Haripur. The delegation appreciated the reforms undertaken by the Prisons Department for the welfare and rehabilitation of prisoners and reaffirmed the European Union's commitment to continuing its support for the KP Prisons Department through SHARP Pakistan, with the aim of further strengthening and enhancing the effectiveness of the ongoing prison reforms.

یورپی یونین کے وفد اور محکمہ جیل خانہ جات خیبرپختونخوا کے درمیان اہم اجلاس
پشاور کے سرینا ہوٹل میں یورپی یونین کے وفد، جس کی قیادت محترمہ اونا کیلی (Ms. Ouna Kelly) کر رہی تھیں، کے ساتھ محکمہ جیل خانہ جات خیبرپختونخوا کے انسپکٹر جنرل، جناب ریحان گل خٹک کی ملاقات ہوئی۔ اجلاس میں ڈاکٹر سیبسٹین لورین(Dr. Sebastian Lorien)، چیف ایگزیکٹو آفیسر شارپ پاکستان (SHARP)، جناب مدثر جاوید، ڈپٹی انسپکٹر جنرل (جوڈیشل اینڈ سیکیورٹی) جناب امین شعیب، اور ڈپٹی انسپکٹر جنرل (فنانس اینڈ پلاننگ) جناب حشمت اللہ بھی شریک تھے۔
انسپکٹر جنرل جیل خانہ جات نے وفد کا خیرمقدم کرتے ہوئے محکمہ جیل خانہ جات خیبرپختونخوا میں اصلاحات اور ڈیجیٹلائزیشن کے اقدامات کے لیے یورپی یونین کی مسلسل تعاون کو سراہا۔ انہوں نے وفد کو محکمہ میں جاری اصلاحات سے بھی آگاہ کیا، جو وزیراعلیٰ خیبرپختونخوا، جناب سہیل خان آفریدی، اور وزیراعلیٰ کے معاونِ خصوصی برائے جیل خانہ جات، جناب افتخار اللہ جان، کی ہدایات کی روشنی میں عمل میں لائی جا رہی ہیں۔
انسپکٹر جنرل نے وفد کو پریزنز اسٹاف ٹریننگ اکیڈمی، ہری پور میں جیل عملے کے لیے جاری پیشہ ورانہ تربیتی پروگراموں کے بارے میں بھی بریفنگ دی۔ یورپی یونین کے وفد نے محکمہ جیل خانہ جات کی جانب سے قیدیوں کی فلاح و بہبود اور اصلاح کے لیے کیے گئے اقدامات کو سراہا اور اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا کہ یورپی یونین، شارپ پاکستان (SHARP) کے ذریعے، محکمہ جیل خانہ جات خیبرپختونخوا کے ساتھ اپنے تعاون کو مزید مضبوط بنائے گی تاکہ جاری اصلاحاتی عمل کو مزید مؤثر اور مستحکم بنایا جا سکے۔
