Based on historical records of the Bahawalpur State, the Sutlej Valley Project, and available local information, here is what is known about Chak No. 29/3-R (Haroonabad Tehsil, Bahawalnagar District):
Chak No. 29/3-R History
Before canal colonization, this area was part of the Badru Wala Tibba desert region and consisted mainly of grazing land with very little cultivation.
The Bahawalnagar–Fort Abbas railway line and Badru Wala (now Haroonabad) Railway Station were built in 1927, making the area accessible.
The 3-R Canal (3R Distributary) was developed as part of the Sutlej Valley Project, which brought irrigation to this region during the late 1920s and early 1930s.
Haroonabad officially developed as a planned mandi (market town) around 1934, after irrigation reached the area.
