When Captain Hussain Khan was martyred
Sardar Ashraf Chakvi (Chak Bazar)
11 November 1947, a little before Toli, at the place of Kabul Gulla, where the conqueror of Azad Kashmir, Captain Hussain Khan, was martyred. Now, after his martyrdom, this place is called Shaheed Gulla. At that place, the national hero of Jihad, freedom of Kashmir and the completion of Pakistan, Captain Hussain Khan, was martyred.
Historians and those who witnessed the battle with their own eyes say that there was a sea of people. People were coming from the place of martyrdom of the young man with his cot, along with the heads of the grieving people. When his cot was brought down from Dahmani Barmang peak through Ban Bahak to Chak, only people were seen from the peak to Chak. Chak, where today there is a market, airport, Rodman Road Chowk, was empty fields at that time. There was no settlement in the distance. At that time, women from the surrounding areas also gathered there to see the face of Captain Hussain Khan Shaheed. Among them was Begum, wife of Ali Bahadur Khan of Chak, who was the owner of this land. Begum, who was the grandmother of Sardar Muhammad Ashraf Chakvi, asked the people who were carrying Captain Hussain Khan Shaheed's cot on their shoulders to take down the cot.
I will see the face of Captain Hussain Khan Shaheed. There, Jam Ghafir saw the Captain Sahib. The ladies and gentlemen were overcome with grief. The people then carried the cot on their shoulders and set off, saying that they reached Hussain Kot, which was called Kala Kot at that time, passing through the Pir Baloch Direk, near the house of Major Saber Shaheed. There was no idea of the crowd of people there. Thousands of people walked along in a sad state. It is said that women and elderly people from far and wide were watching the last of Captain Hussain Khan Shaheed from the rooftops of their houses.
After the martyrdom of Captain Hussain Khan Shaheed, in addition to his military command, courage and bravery, he was a knight in the military field. Allah Almighty had bestowed upon him the skills of leadership and leadership. He was a hero in the battles of his era. In my youth, I heard people with opinions praising him. I heard his abilities praised by General Hayat Khan, the former President of Azad Kashmir.
Captain Hussain Khan Shaheed's military strategy, courage and excellent command are the most talked about in our country. From the 1947 Jihad for the freedom of Kashmir to the battle of Rawalakot, the battle with the Dogra forces, Captain Hussain Khan Shaheed's Mujahideen were under his command. Many Mujahideen were martyred and injured in this battle. For their bravery and sacrifice, the respected and esteemed Khatib of Ahle Hadith Jamia Masjid Sawt-ul-Haq and the founder and editor of Awaz-ul-Haq, Ibn Yaqub Sahib Chak, used to talk about the martyrdom of the Captain Sahib in his Friday sermon for thirty years and also used to say that if it was ordered to prostrate to the grave, he would prostrate to the grave of Captain Hussain Khan Shaheed. With this spirit of faith, Mr. Ibn Yaqub used to pay tribute to Captain Hussain Khan Shaheed. The Khatib Sahib has been ill for some time. May Allah Almighty grant him complete health. (2) The father of Khatib Jamia Masjid Ahle Hadith Ibn Yaqub was martyred on the Rajouri front in 1947. His name was Muhammad Yaqub Khan Shaheed. He named himself after this name and named him Ibn Yaqub, now he is famous by the same name. I pay my respects to Ibn Yaqub Sahib and pray for him and pay my respects to my late grandmother. I pay my respects to his courage, bravery, dedication and along with Captain Hussain Khan Shaheed, may Allah Almighty grant him mercy and peace. I pay my respects to all the martyrs who were martyred at the place of Shaheed Gulla Toli Pir along with Captain Hussain Khan Shaheed.
