NIDs Inauguration Ceremony Held in Shigar for Upcoming Polio Campaign

An inaugural ceremony for the upcoming National Immunization Days (NIDs) Polio Campaign, scheduled from April 13–16, 2026, was held today at the Deputy Commissioner Conference Hall in Shigar.
The Honorable Deputy Commissioner Shigar, Arif Hussain, formally inaugurated the campaign by administering polio drops to children. The ceremony was attended by Assistant Commissioner Shigar Mr. Faisal Hayat Gondal, representatives from the Health and Education Departments, WHO officials, SDO Water & Power, District Police Officer (DPO), DD LGRD, community notables, and media personnel.
During the event, the District Health Officer (DHO) Shigar provided a detailed briefing on the campaign’s preparations, targets, and strategies across all union councils of the district. He shared that a total of 13,127 children are expected to be vaccinated during the campaign and highlighted the measures taken to ensure quality implementation and complete coverage.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the Health Department and partner organizations, emphasizing the importance of collective action in eradicating polio. He urged all stakeholders to demonstrate full commitment and active participation to ensure the campaign’s success.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed pledge from all participants to achieve 100% vaccination coverage and safeguard every child from the threat of poliovirus.
