A delegation of officers from the WAPDA Administrative Staff College (WAMC), participating in the 155th Middle Management Course (155th MMC), visited the Skardu Development Authority (SDA) for an exposure visit.

The delegation was briefed by the Director General of SDA and his team on ongoing local initiatives as well as Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) schemes. The session also covered key aspects of the Master Plan of Skardu City- 2040.

The delegation expressed its appreciation to the Director General of SDA for organizing a comprehensive and insightful briefing on these important projects.

The interactive session included in-depth discussions and questions, making the engagement highly productive. It provided WAPDA officers with valuable insights into the projects, while also offering SDA officials the opportunity to engage with a highly experienced technical cohort—an exchange expected to positively inform future project implementation.

Skardu Development Authority (SDA)

Skardu Development Authority (SDA) is pleased to announce the resumption of work on the ongoing project titled “Development of Parking Area (Portion-II)” after the winter season. The project has now recommenced with full capacity and renewed momentum.

The stretch from Ali Chowk to Benazir Chowk via Alamdar Chowk is currently progressing efficiently, reflecting SDA’s commitment to timely completion and quality ex*****on of development initiatives.

Upon completion, the project will significantly ease the traffic burden on main roads and provide much-needed parking space, thereby improving overall traffic management and urban mobility in the area.

SDA remains dedicated to facilitating sustainable urban development and enhancing public convenience through such vital infrastructure projects.

بلتستان ڈویژن کے نگران وزراء، جن میں وزیرِ صحت ڈاکٹر نیاز علی، وزیرِ انفارمیشن ٹیکنالوجی غلام عباس، وزیرِ بلدیات و دیہی ترقی (LGRD) انجینئر الطاف حسین، اور وزیرِ اعلیٰ کے مشیر برائے سماجی بہبود و خواتین بااختیار سازی سید فاطمہ شامل تھے، نے اسکردو ڈیولپمنٹ اتھارٹی (SDA) کا سرکاری دورہ کیا۔

دورے کے دوران ڈائریکٹر جنرل SDA نے اتھارٹی کی جانب سے جاری ترقیاتی منصوبوں اور اسکردو سٹی ماسٹر پلان 2040 کے تحت طے شدہ حکمتِ عملی پر تفصیلی بریفنگ دی۔

معزز مہمانوں نے اسکردو میں شہری ترقی کے فروغ میں SDA کے مؤثر کردار کو سراہا اور اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا کہ وہ اتھارٹی کو مزید مضبوط بنانے کے لیے اپنا کردار ادا کریں گے، تاکہ اسکردو کو گلگت بلتستان کا ایک مثالی شہر بنایا جا سکے۔

The caretaker ministers of Baltistan Division, including Minister for Health Dr. Niaz Ali, Minister for Information Technology Ghulam Abbas, and Minister for Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) Engr. Altaf Hussain, along with the Advisor to the Chief Minister on Social Welfare and Women Empowerment, Syed Fatima, paid an official visit to the Skardu Development Authority (SDA).

During the visit, the Director General of SDA provided a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing development schemes being implemented by the Authority, as well as the strategic framework outlined in the Skardu City Master Plan 2040.

The visiting dignitaries appreciated the proactive role of SDA in advancing urban development initiatives in Skardu. They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting and strengthening the Authority’s efforts, with the objective of transforming Skardu into a model city within Gilgit-Baltistan.
