On November 15, 2025, the Computer Science Department held the external defense of the final year projects for the batch of 2022-2025, with a total of 65 students participating.
The event ran from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

DR. MUHAMMAD IQBAL attended the Senate Hall as the external examiner and presided over the students' external defense.
Similarly, MR. MAROOF ISHAQ served as the external examiner in the Committee Hall and chaired the student defenses there.

*Industrial Visit to STP and SCO Office – BSCS 2nd Semester..*

On October 16, 2025, BSCS 2nd semester students visited the Software Technology Park (STP) and Special Communication Organization (SCO) under the supervision of Sir Waseem Abbas. SCO, a public sector organization under the Ministry of IT & Telecom, provides telecom services in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, including Skardu.
At STP, students learned about the network planning and infrastructure across Gilgit-Baltistan and observed how various IT companies contribute to regional digital development. Later, during the SCO office visit, they explored networking tools, BTS, BSC, MSC servers, and broadcasting systems, guided by SCO engineers who provided a detailed technical tour.
A light refreshment was arranged, adding to the pleasant learning experience. Special thanks go to the University Administration for transport support, the Head of Computer Science Department for granting permission, and Mr. Irfan (Commander, SCO), Major Waqas, Major Nisar, and the SCO staff for their cooperation.

*Study Tour to SCOM Network Office and STP Software Technology Park Skardu*

The students of Artificial Intelligence at UOBS Skardu, led by Sir Syed Nizam, embarked on an enlightening study tour to SCOM Network Office and STP Software Technology Park Skardu. During the visit, the students gained hands-on insights into the latest networking and software technologies.

At SCOM Network Office, the students explored the intricacies of network infrastructure, learning about cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions. The visit provided a unique opportunity to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

At STP Software Technology Park Skardu, the students discovered the park's innovative ecosystem, state-of-the-art facilities, and successful startups. The tour highlighted the importance of technology parks in fostering entrepreneurship and innovation.

Under Sir Syed Nizam's guidance, the students benefited from this valuable experience, gaining practical knowledge, industry exposure, and networking opportunities that will undoubtedly enhance their academic and professional pursuits.
