🌊 This week, we went diving!

Not just underwater, but into different aspects of life. 🤿

Our Portuguese-speaking session explored the theme of Diving, giving us plenty of opportunities to look at what happens when we go deeper, take the plunge, and explore something new.

🎤 Miguel Paranhos delivered his Ice Breaker speech, sharing a simple but powerful idea: spending enough time practicing anything helps us learn it well. For Miguel, that’s the plan for public speaking, and this is just the beginning!

❤️ Afonso Antunes then captivated the audience with an emotional speech, combining compelling storylines with his distinctive style and delivery.

Two very different speeches, but one common thread: you get better by showing up and taking the plunge.

🌍 Friendship was the theme, but growth was the takeaway.

This week’s English meeting celebrated World Friendship Day, with Patrícia Penela setting the tone by reminding us how meaningful connections help us grow—both personally and professionally.

🎤 We enjoyed three inspiring prepared speeches:
✨ An Ice Breaker speech by José Martins marking the beginning of a new Toastmasters journey.
💰 A thought-provoking speech by Diana Costa reminding us that money alone isn’t enough.
🏆 A competition speech from our District Champion, Kriz Bru, as part of their preparation for the next stage.

Our Table Topics session challenged members to think on their feet with impromptu speeches about friendship in the workplace, proving that some of the best ideas come when you least expect them.

Every meeting is an opportunity to learn, challenge yourself, and connect with an amazing community of professionals. No wonder we’re proud to be part of one of the most vibrant Toastmasters clubs around! 💙

Yesterday we had a very special session in Portuguese
Why did we find it special?
The evening started off with Sara Magalhães introducing our theme for evening: Team Buildings!

We had THREE prepared speaches by Paula Machado, Mariana Gomes and Bruno Soares brining us through a night of story telling and technical knowledge.

For our improvised speaches we had 3 creative volunteers, an Ant, a Bird and a Bee 😉

Learning never stops—even for the leaders.

This weekend, our Club Officers joined the District Club Officer Training to learn, exchange ideas, and prepare for another year of supporting our members.

Every meeting is powered by volunteers, and every volunteer grows through learning and collaboration.

We’re looking forward to bringing fresh ideas, new energy, and even more opportunities for growth to our club.

Lisbon professionals, check this one out!

Yesterday we had a very special English session.
The evening started off with Paulo Martins introducing our theme for evening: WW2!

Vítor Batista gave his first speech in the second level on leadership styles and preferences.

We had 5 warriors working on their improvised speech skills.

And the session ended with our Area Director, Susana Teixeira, introducing to us her role and what she plans to do to support our club and others in the same area.
