Tonight over the Valley of the Stars 🌕✨

The August Sturgeon Moon, huge and golden, rising over the Alentejo hills. One of those evenings when everything goes quiet and you remember just how beautiful it is out here.

Some nights our name makes perfect sense.

A Lua do Esturjão de agosto, enorme e dourada, a nascer sobre as colinas alentejanas. Uma daquelas noites em que tudo f**a em silêncio e nos lembramos da sorte que temos em viver aqui.

Há noites em que o nosso nome faz todo o sentido.

A little more sunshine at work. ☀️⚡️

As our guests, friends and followers know, Vale das Estrelas runs entirely on the sun. We’re off-grid, with our own water supply and a filtration and treatment system that allows us to reuse water here on the land.

And now the sunshine has another job.

This summer we added EV charging for our guests, and it’s already getting plenty of use. Because if the sun can power the rooms, the pool, the kitchens and pretty much everything else around here, it may as well send you home with a full battery too.

One more small piece of the sustainability puzzle. And yes, we feel rather good about this one. 🌿⚡️

Join us tonight at 6pm at Vale das Estrelas for a Wine Story Tasting with former BBC foreign correspondent Alastair Leithead.

Over four wines, Alastair takes you on a journey through the Alentejo, exploring its history, culture, people and traditions through the stories behind what’s in your glass.

No wine expertise required. Just curiosity, good company and a willingness to taste.

Everybody loves golden hour. 🌅

Tonight we’re celebrating it with the first of our summer Cocktail Evenings at Vale das Estrelas.

From 5 pm, our LA-trained bartender will be shaking, stirring and pouring a menu of beautiful signature cocktails, alongside wine, beer and micheladas, all served with one of our favourite views in Portugal, looking out across the Serra de Monchique.

Come for a drink, stay for the sunset, and leave whenever you like. We’ll be here from 5 pm until around 8 or 9 pm.

📍DM us for directions. You can find us on Google Maps, but the last kilometre is an analog adventure. We’ll send you the easy way.

Our beautiful Suite Sirius is available 31 July to 3 August.

Summer at Vale das Estrelas has been fully booked for months.

But every now and then a handful of dates become available we have a couple of rooms open from 26 July to 3 August and 28 July to 3 August aaaand 5 August to 9 August. DM and we will reserve it for you.

If you’ve been waiting for an excuse to disappear into the Alentejo for a few days…

Here it is.

Slow mornings.

Our first wedding at Vale das Estrelas. ✨💍

What a beautiful weekend it was. After months of planning and a whirlwind of preparation, it was so rewarding to see everything come together as two wonderful people celebrated their love with family and friends in the heart of the Alentejo.
