A Romániai Magyar Demokrata Szövetség 1989-től helyi, országos és európai szinten vállalja fel a Romániában élő magyarok érdekvédelmét és közképviseletét, a közösség szülőföldön való boldogulása és jóléte feltételeinek megteremtését. t és alkalmazását, hiszen legfontosabb célja az, hogy a magyar emberek biztonságban érezzék magukat itthon. Uniunea Democrată Maghiară din România își asumă, din 1989, la nivel local, național și european, reprezentarea intereselor și protecția drepturilor maghiarilor din România, garantarea condițiilor pentru bunăstarea și prosperitatea comunității maghiare pe pământul natal. Pe lângă extinderea drepturilor minorităților naționale, Uniunea militează pentru păstrarea drepturilor obținute, ia atitudine împotriva nedreptăților aduse comunității maghiare, solicită respectarea și implementarea legii, țelul major fiind sentimentul de siguranță al maghiarilor, aici, acasă. În cei peste 25 de ani de la înființare, UDMR nu și-a schimbat obiectivele majore, denumirea, simbolul, fiind consecvent în tot ceea ce reprezintă. Since its establishment in 1989 the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania has assumed the role of representing the interests and protecting the rights of the Hungarian community in Romania at a local, national and European level. It is working towards securing the conditions needed for all citizens to live prosperously in Romania. The RMDSZ is aiming for the extension of minority rights and is asking that the existing laws and the rule of law be applied, as the most important goal of the alliance is that the Hungarian people feel secure in their home country. In over a quarter of a century The RMDSZ has not changed its main goals, name, symbol, or what it stands for.
