Sleepovers. One of the most controversial topics I post about. For many families they’re a childhood tradition. For others, they’re a hard no.

This week, an Irish court sentenced a father after he drugged his daughter and her friends during a sleepover before ra**ng one of the girls. It’s a horrifying reminder that the greatest danger to a child isn’t always a stranger. Sometimes it’s an adult everyone trusted.

And this by far isn’t an isolated case.

In Oregon, USA, a father laced mango smoothies with prescription sedatives before giving them to his 12-year-old daughter and her friends during a sleepover. According to court evidence, one of the girls fought to stay awake long enough to send her mother a desperate text just before 2 a.m.:

“Mom please pick me up and say I had a family emergency. I don’t feel safe. I might not respond but please come get me. Please. Please pick up. Please. Please!!”

That message saved the girls from a possible lifetime nightmare. But the risks don’t end with adults.

In Western Australia, parents left children at a sleepover believing they would be supervised by the host parents. Instead, without informing the children’s parents, the hosts arranged for a babysitter they had found through Facebook. That babysitter Jareth Harries-Markham pleaded guilty to more than 140 charges. The victims, some of them sisters, were aged between 8 months and 9 years. The children’s parents had no idea another adult would be looking after their children that night.

It is another devastating reminder that parents should never assume the adults they expect to be supervising their child will be the only adults present. Ask who will be in the home, whether anyone else will be caring for the children at any stage, and whether your child could be left alone with another adult or older child.

Child-on-child s*xual abuse is also a significant concern. It can involve cousins, older siblings in the host family, friends of friends, or other children staying overnight. Parents often focus on the adults in the home while overlooking the risks posed by unsupervised access between children.

Predators unfortunately don’t wear warning labels. They build trust. They appear friendly, respected and “safe.” That’s how many gain access to children. No different than Hamish Tait in the centres.

If your child does attend a sleepover, have a family safety word or phrase known only to you and your child. If they ever text or say that word, it means one thing: you immediately go and collect them—no questions asked, no punishment, no lectures. Leave first. Talk later. Your child should know they never need to explain why they want to come home.

Just because you as a child had fun experiences at sleepovers doesn’t mean your child will. Every parent has to make their own decision about sleepovers, but ask yourself:

• Do I really know every adult in that home?
• Who else will be there overnight?
• Are there older siblings, cousins or other children staying?
• Will the children be appropriately supervised?
• Does my child know they can call or text me at any time, for any reason, without getting into trouble?
• Have we talked openly about body safety, consent, secrets and trusting their instincts?

Child safety isn’t about living in fear. It’s about recognising that trust should never replace vigilance. One conversation today could prevent a lifetime of trauma tomorrow.

Do you allow your children to have sleepovers at other people’s homes? If yes, what safety rules do you have in place? If not, what made you decide against them?

ANOTHER case that warrants capital punishment!!! This is what we fight daily.

🚨 Graphic Content 🚨

'I'd love to kill a child' - Man, 48, who wanted to r**e and eat a child named.

A real life monster who said he wanted to kidnap and eat a child, and who distributed videos and images of children being r**ed, was jailed for eight years today.

Convicted pa******le, John Weber, (48), from Limerick, Ireland 🇮🇪 was finally unmasked publicly for his crimes, after Judge Colin Daly lifted reporting restrictions in the case. Weber’s home address cannot be published.

Weber pleaded guilty to 14 charges, including one count of possession of child s*x abuse material; four counts of distributing the material; and nine counts of producing the illegal material.

In “deeply disturbing” online chats with other pa******les, Weber said he wanted to “kidnap torture and r**e children”, and he “invited others to travel” to a location to do this, said judge Daly.

Limerick Circuit Criminal Court heard Weber had 111 videos and images of child s*x abuse, including very young children being r**ed, on an iPhone and iPad that Gardai found in his home, during planned searches of the property, in 2024 and 2025.

Judge Daly said the “majority” of the videos and images were “Category A” material, meaning they were the most explicit on a scale of officially categorised child s*x abuse material.

Weber also spoke to other pa******les online about “snuff” movies, which are films that depict killings typically in the contest of s*xual violence.

He told others in online chats that he lived next to a creche, and that he had stood on a balcony, with his p***s exposed, while watching children below him.

The court heard material found on Weber’s electronic devices included the r**e of a six-month old baby, an 18-month old toddler, a violent r**e of a six-year old girl who was clutching a teddy bear at the time, an eight-year old boy whose hands were tied with chains, and a five-year old child tied in chains and dressed in fe**sh and bo***ge clothing.

Weber communicated with other pa******les on social media apps KIK and Snapchat, Session and TeleGaurd.

Weber used the anonymous web browser “Duck Duck” to communicate with other child predators to share images and videos and communicate about child s*x abuse.

Weber told others online that he wanted to cannibalise a child, the court previously heard.

Weber stated: “I would love to kill a child today, I would love to be a murderer.”...“I wanna cannabilise a child.”...“I know how to make a child bleed.”

Weber also stated: “There is nothing as good as a bleeding child”...“Most kids I see I want to r**e”.

Judge Daly said the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, in the United States, made two referrals about Weber to gardai.

This triggered an investigation led by Detective Garda James Muldowney, Divisional Protective Services Unit, (DPSU), Henry Street Garda Station, Limerick.

Detective Garda Muldowney, said Weber stated in online chats with others that he “would love to torture, r**e and kill a child, and that he (Weber) has been so close a few times”.

Weber also sent his therapist a video of a naked eight-year old boy and the counsellor immediately alerted gardai.

Det Garda Muldowney described Weber was a “an immediate threat” and “risk” to children and a “danger to the community”.

Weber told others in online chats: “Any age gets me hard, as long as they are smooth and pre-pubescent.”

Weber claimed he had been s*xually abused as a child and that he had been s*xually assaulted while working as a s*x worker in England.

Weber told gardai he was HIV positive but that he was not taking prescribed medication to stop the spread of the virus to others and that he was having unprotected s*xual in*******se with others.

Weber stated in online chats with others: “You can help me find lads to infect today.”

Weber handed a letter of remorse to his barrister Liam Carroll BL who in turn shared it with the prosecution and the judge.

Mr Carroll told the court that Weber’s letter was “a further acknowledgment of his wrongdoing”.

Weber told gardai he had been accessing child s*x abuse material since 1997, when he was aged 19.

Judge Daly said the conversations between Weber and others online was “extremely serious” and the material found on Weber’s phone and iPad was “abhorrent” “depraved” and contained “extreme s*xual violence on children”.

Judge Daly said Weber’s conversations with others may have also “incited” others to act out “violent and departed” abuse of children.

Weber also spoke of young relatives in a “vile” way when discussing child s*x abuse with others online, it was heard.

Judge Daly said Weber “sought out” child s*x abuse material and shared it with “other pa******les” and continued doing so a year after his house was first searched by gardai.

Judge Daly said a probation report concluded that Weber was of “higher than average risk of reoffending”, and that it appeared Weber was “indicative of someone who had become lost in his own depravity”.

Weber had a history of offending, and was also convicted previously for stealing from an organisation to which he had held a “senior position”, said the judge.

The judge commended Det Garda Muldowney for the success of the garda investigation into Weber, as well as the professional and sensitive way Det Garda Muldowney had explained the background to the case in court.

The judge reduced a headline sentence of 12 years to ten years with the final two years suspended.

Thank You, Quezon City Philippines 🇵🇭

This week, Project Rescue Children had the privilege of being invited to the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons commemoration hosted by the Philippine Children’s Ministries Network, Quezon City Social Services Development Department, and the Quezon City Anti-Trafficking in Persons Committee.

A sincere thank you to everyone who organised such a meaningful and well-coordinated event. Bringing together judges, prosecutors, law enforcement, DSWD, barangay officials, government agencies, civil society and child protection organisations demonstrated exactly what is needed to combat human trafficking—strong partnerships and a united commitment.

The discussions reinforced the importance of specialist training for investigators, proper evidence gathering, due process for victims and the accused, and strengthening referral systems to ensure no victim is left behind.

It was also an honour that Project Rescue Children was recognised for our work across the Philippines. Despite not being based in Quezon City, we were invited because of the impact our team has made nationally alongside Philippine’s law enforcement and government agencies. We were humbled to hear that many attendees wanted to learn more about how we investigate cases, work with authorities, and achieve successful outcomes for vulnerable children.

We look forward to strengthening these partnerships and continuing the fight against child exploitation and human trafficking across the Philippines.

The biggest supplier of content used by child predators isn’t child predators. It’s parents.

Read that again.

Every day, parents publicly post photos and videos of their children for likes, followers, sponsorships, branding, free products or simply to share their lives.

By the age of 13, the average child has around 1,300 photos and videos of them online, posted by their own family. Within minutes of being born parents are posting their child to the world. Reality check… No one cares besides your family and predators with s*xual fe**shes and fantasies of infants. But still that won’t deter parents.

Child images used in profile pictures on public accounts. How hard is it to have a private account or not put your child’s face on your profile picture? Are you that obsessed to show the world you have a child? Schools, sports clubs, daycare centres to name a few are all just as guilty of putting children’s safety behind other priorities.

Now ask yourself this:

Who is providing predators with the biggest library of children’s images?

Not the predators.

Parents.

Those images are downloaded, stolen, and shared across pa******le forums and networks, including on the dark web. They are used to identify children, manipulated with AI to create abhorrent child s*xual abuse material (CSAM), exploited by child traffickers, and used by lone offenders seeking to identify, groom, s*xually abuse, abduct, or otherwise exploit children.

After 26 years investigating crimes against children, I can tell you this isn’t fearmongering. It’s happening every day, and it’s getting worse. Law enforcement around the world is warning parents. Child protection organisations like Project Rescue Children have been warning parents for years.

But many parents still don’t listen, or care.

We’ve created a culture where too many parents value social media attention, seeking that extra like or follow, over their child’s digital privacy and safety.

The “child influencer” phenomenon didn’t happen by accident. It has been fuelled by mainstream media and journalists who glorify influencers instead of exposing the risks. The result is a culture where too many parents (and grifters) chase likes, followers, sponsorships and attention while sacrificing their children’s privacy and digital safety.

Your child isn’t content.

Your child isn’t a marketing tool.

Your child isn’t an influencer.

Your child isn’t a tool to get free products.

Before you post that next photo, ask yourself one question:

Would I be comfortable if this image ended up in the hands of a child predator?

If the answer is no, don’t post it.

Remove your child’s image from your profile pictures and make your accounts private. 2 very easy and free methods to help protect your children. Those who still ignore (which will be many) are blatantly negligent in protecting their children. It’s that simple.

Privacy protects children. Social media doesn’t.

Today, for ‘World Day Against Trafficking in Persons’ (Human Trafficking), thousands of organisations and individuals will post about child trafficking. They’ll change their profile picture, share a hashtag and say all the right things.

But children aren’t rescued by hashtags.

For me, this day like all past years isn’t about talking about child trafficking. It’s about doing something about it.

While many are posting today, my team and I are where we’ve always been—working alongside law enforcement, gathering evidence, supporting investigations and helping put child traffickers behind bars.

On Tuesday, another child trafficking case we initiated, investigated and supported in 2024 with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) resulted in the trafficker accepting a plea deal. They are going to prison because of the evidence gathered during that investigation. The attached video is of the actual sting operation where you’ll notice our Project Rescue Children undercover operative sitting on the bed to the left of the screen in the white shirt after he and undercover NBI made the exchange to buy the children.

That’s what this day should be about: action. Every trafficker convicted means fewer children at risk. Every successful investigation sends a message that those who exploit children can be found and held accountable.

To the NBI agents, prosecutors and every investigator who carries the weight of these cases every day, thank you. It’s an honour to stand beside you in this fight.

I’ll never stop saying it: child trafficking isn’t ended by words. It’s ended by people willing to step onto the frontlines, confront evil head-on and make sure traffickers end up exactly where they belong—behind bars.

I’m absolutely gobsmacked at how these parents are receiving absolutely zero help—both as individuals and as a group. It is appalling.

The response from the Fit Kidz owners, NSW politicians and government departments is not only a disgrace but has left many families feeling isolated at a time when they need support the most.

Parents are desperate to connect with each other without fear from these abusive bully owners. Parents previously created a private Facebook support group to connect with one another. That group ultimately failed after private conversations were shared outside the group to the owners, and parents were later confronted by a Fit Kidz director about discussions that had taken place inside what they believed was a private support group. Many parents no longer felt safe speaking openly and are too scared to start something.

No parent should have to worry about who is reading their conversations while trying to support one another after their children are victims to a pa******le and negligent daycare business.

So, to provide a safer environment, we have created a private, verified WhatsApp Community exclusively for parents whose children are victims of Hamish Tait and Fit Kidz.

My role is simply to provide the platform. I will not be participating in discussions unless someone specifically asks me a question or requests my assistance. This community belongs to the parents. It is your place to support one another, share information, ask questions and ensure no family has to go through this alone. This will be a long process.

To help protect the integrity of the community, every membership request will be individually verified before approval. Verification will include:
• Government-issued photo identification (with numbers covered if you wish).
• A selfie holding the same identification.
• Evidence that your child attended a Fit Kidz centre (such as enrolment records, invoices, emails or other documentation).
• Your child’s first name and the Fit Kidz centre they attended including dates.

If you don’t want to be verified please don’t contact me.

**All verification documents will be used solely to confirm eligibility for the community and will be permanently deleted once the process has been completed.**

If you are a parent or guardian whose child attended Fit Kidz and would like to join, please send me a private message. We will then explain the verification process.

These families have already been through enough. They deserve a trusted, private space where they can support one another without fear or intimidation from the owners, their trolls, abusers, or journalists.

***To protect the community and identity of parents wanting to join who might post in the comments “how do I join” we have turned off comments for this post.

September 2020.

🚨 5 YEARS BEFORE TAIT’s ARREST 🚨

A parent raised concerns directly to Fit Kidz Centre Director ‘Amanda Inch’ about Hamish Tait being around naked children in the daycare toilets and classroom reas.

Parents who raise child safety concerns expect one thing: an independent response from the owners or director they reported the concerns to.

Naturally, that scenario didn’t unfold, as we are discussing Fit Kidz Learning Centres in New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺. Unfortunately, the profitable business is managed by owners Mel and Mick Scaife, whose negligence, cult and bullying behavior have raised serious concerns, particularly given their association with and aiding Australia’s most notorious daycare pa******le.

Instead of receiving a response from the centre Director Amanda Inch or the owners Mick and Mel Scaife, the parent received an email from Hamish Tait himself—the very employee they had complained about. No Director Amanda or the owners CC’d, just Australia’s worst daycare pa******le replying about how safe their child was and about body boundary safety. FYI - Body Boundary Safety was created to help children protect themselves from the Hamish Taits of the world.

I’m sharing that email today. Read it yourself and ask the question every parent and investigator should be asking:

Why was the subject of a child safety complaint the person responding to the complainant?

Where was the Centre Director?

Where were the owners?

Where was the independent investigation?

What action was taken to protect children following that complaint?

And perhaps the most disturbing part of all is the content of the email. A parent raises concerns about Hamish Tait being around naked children, and the response they receive is Hamish himself giving advice about “body boundaries.” Looking at that email today, knowing he now faces hundreds of child abuse-related charges before the courts, it is difficult to imagine a more devastating response for that family.

These are not minor administrative questions. They go to the heart of how serious child safety concerns were managed. This alone proves the neglect and failure of Fit Kidz owners and director to stop Hamish.

I can also tell you that this incident has been reported to the NSW Early Learning Commission and the AFP officers investigating Tait, but to date the commission has not replied. The more I hear, and see documentation sent to the commission the more I worry of corruption and ignoring reports by parents. Still not a single word or any support to families from these NSW political figures and the PM Anthony Albanese Prue Car MP Chris Minns Kate Washington MP WHY????

Parents entrusted Fit Kidz with the care of their children. That didn’t happen. Parents deserved an independent investigation—not a response from the person they had complained about.

** The owners to this date along with current directors like Raquel, are STILL intimidating, bullying and threatening staff and parents speaking a word about this case. Don’t worry Raquel, you bully, you and the other Mick and Mel minions are being watched too and reported. If anyone has other names of Mick and Mel’s bully minions or spies, let me know.

If any individual or organisation failed in their legal responsibilities, they should be held accountable. If evidence supports criminal offences by anyone beyond the alleged offender, those responsible should also face the full force of the law.

The illegal surrogacy black market is about far more than unethical arrangements. It creates opportunities for vulnerable women and even teen girls to be exploited and raises profound concerns about unborn children being treated as commodities. Around the world, traffickers have exploited gaps in oversight to profit from babies, and there are serious concerns that children including unborn without proper safeguards can end up in the hands of anyone with money—including child predators seeking children to abuse.

In 2025, my team at Project Rescue Children began investigating intelligence we received that ultimately led to a joint operation with the Philippine National Bureau of Investigation (NBI-AHTRAD), rescuing and freed 15 young women (numerous heavily pregnant) across different target locations simultaneously. It was months of surveillance, evidence gathering, preparation and working alongside dedicated law enforcement investigators before that operation ever took place. The public sees the raid. They rarely see the hard, dangerous work and investigation that made it possible.

Human trafficking is one of the fastest-growing forms of organised crime in the world. It doesn’t only happen in poor communities or distant countries—it is fuelled by global demand and generates billions every year. If we are serious about protecting children, we must also confront the networks that exploit vulnerable children and treat human life as something that can be bought and sold.

I’ve worked with many law enforcement agencies across the world fighting pa******les and traffickers for 2 decades, but it’s always a pleasure working side by side with the global leaders in human trafficking investigations and operations… the Philippines 🇵🇭 NBI and Philippine National Police (PNP).

24/07/2026

Australia’s largest childcare abuse and coverup case should have united Australia’s political leaders behind one message: the children come first. Instead, there has been deafening silence. This disgusting case is far bigger than Hamish Tait alone!!!

NSW Premier Chris Minns Chris Minns , the NSW Minister for Families and Communities Kate Washington Kate Washington MP , the NSW Minister for Education & Early Learning Prue Car Prue Car MP (who is deleting comments on her page about this case), the NSW Early Childhood Education and Care Regulatory Authority, and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese Anthony Albanese have remained publicly silent on what is unquestionably the biggest childcare abuse and pa******le investigation in Australian history. No support for families or the children. Why?!

Compare that with the responses to the Ashley Paul Griffith case in Queensland and the Joshua Brown case in Victoria, where premiers, ministers and governments moved quickly to publicly condemn the alleged offending, reassure parents and announce reviews and reforms.

So why the silence in New South Wales?

Even more disturbing is watching sections of the media focus on portraying the compulsive liars and disgraceful Fit Kidz Learning Centre aka ‘THE CULT’ owners Mick and Mel Scaife as the victims, while the real victims are the children and their devastated families. Public sympathy and crocodile tears should never outweigh public accountability.

Over recent weeks, dozens upon dozens of parents, staff and former staff have contacted me independently. They have provided emails, documents and firsthand accounts which they believe point to a CULT workplace culture where complaints were ignored, staff and parents were intimidated, bullied, intimidated and child safety concerns were not treated with the seriousness they deserved. Those accounts should not be dismissed. They deserve an independent investigation and criminal investigation by NSW Police Force

Australians deserve answers. How could a pa******le now facing 329 charges (many more to come) allegedly offend over so many years? Were complaints properly investigated? Were safety policies applied consistently? Were warning signs missed? What role did regulators play? Were opportunities to intervene ignored?

People often ask why I’m so passionate about this case. The answer is simple. I’ve watched this same disgusting cycle repeat itself in daycare abuse case after daycare abuse case. Children are abused, parents are ignored, businesses go into damage control, reputations are protected, and those responsible for failing children rarely face meaningful accountability. Children and parents left behind. In 2025, I experienced firsthand the intimidation and abuse by Mick Scaife for simply speaking out about this case. That alone raised alarm bells. That only strengthened my resolve. It’s time this cycle ends. It’s time unfit daycare owners like these two and operators who put profits, image and self-preservation ahead of child safety are exposed and, where the evidence supports it, held accountable. Every child deserves to be safe. Every parent deserves the truth.

If any individual or organisation failed in their legal responsibilities, they should be held accountable. If evidence supports criminal offences by anyone beyond the alleged offender, including other staff those responsible should also face the full force of the law.

The biggest childcare abuse case in Australian history cannot end with one man. Parents deserve a full, independent examination of every decision, every complaint, every regulator’s response and every organisational failure that may have allowed this to continue. The children deserve nothing less.

Doesn’t matter how many cases like this we do, as a father, seeing these babies handed over once the marked money is exchanged is a touching reminder of how fragile and innocent life truly is. Every child deserves to be loved, protected and given a future—not bought, sold or treated as a commodity. It strengthens our resolve to keep fighting alongside law enforcement until those responsible are brought to justice and every child has the chance to grow up safe.

www.projectrescuechildren.org

Some of the most vulnerable victims of human trafficking are babies who haven’t even taken their first breath.

Across the world, criminal networks profit by trafficking newborn babies before and after birth. Some are sold through illegal adoption networks. Others are sold to child predators, exploited for forced labour later in life, targeted for organ trafficking, or, in some regions, murdered in ritual killings linked to beliefs in the power of human body parts.

Many are born without any official identity. Others are given false identities to hide the crime and make them disappear forever.

At Project Rescue Children, we have worked alongside law enforcement for years investigating these horrific crimes. Every rescue reminds us that behind every case is a child who deserved safety from the very beginning of life. It never gets easier. It never should.

Human trafficking doesn’t begin when a child can walk or talk. Sometimes it begins before they are even born.

We will continue standing beside investigators, supporting victims, exposing trafficking networks, and fighting for every child who deserves a future.

If you see something that doesn’t feel right, report it. One call can save a child’s life.
