Raport „Ocalić dziedzictwo Ukrainy” jest już dostępny online‼️

Od 𝟮𝟰 𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗼 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮 𝗿𝗼𝗸𝘂 ukraińskie dziedzictwo jest regularnym celem ataków Rosji. Bombardowane są muzea, świątynie, biblioteki, stanowiska archeologiczne – według UNESCO, 344 miejsca o znaczeniu kulturowym uległy zniszczeniu, jednak realne straty – co już udokumentowaliśmy – są znacznie wyższe.

🔴 Narodowy Instytut Dziedzictwa, jako instytucja z ponad 60-letnim doświadczeniem w zakresie ochrony dziedzictwa, od początku wojny wspiera ukraińskie instytucje kultury materialnie oraz poprzez dzielenie się wiedzą ekspercką.

The International Cultural Centre has realized numerous cultural projects, including the "Culture in the Shadow of Conflict. Ukraine, Poland, Georgia", and the photography exhibitions "Domowroty. Włodzimierz Puchalski" and "In Ukraine. Justyna Mielnikiewicz". 🌍📷

"Domowroty. Włodzimierz Puchalski," remembers one of the most famous Polish naturalists, photographers, artists, and educators. 🍃📸 The 'domowroty' of the title is the Polish equivalent of the scientific term 'homing', denoting the ability of animals to find their way home, even if they find themselves outside their usual area of life., is the central focus of the exhibition. It particularly highlights Puchalski's 1937 research into this extraordinary phenomenon with the storks of the Butyny village.

On another note, Justyna Mielnikiewicz has been meticulously documenting day-to-day life in the nations post the Soviet Union's collapse. Her books and photographs, especially those since 2014 chronicling Ukraine, tell an ordinary yet profound story of its people.🇺🇦📚

In light of the recent conflict, the Royal Castle in Warsaw - Museum committed itself to stand by Ukraine, helping preserve and honor its rich cultural heritage.🎨

It took significant steps to protect, conserve, and display precious Ukrainian museum artifacts. Notably, the Castle partnered with the Borys Woznicki Lviv National Art Gallery and the Bohdan and Barbara Chanenko National Museum of Arts in Kyiv.

Several masterpieces from various collections, including works by renowned artists like Grottger, Matejko, and Siemiradzki, were safeguarded and displayed in the "Genius of Lviv" exhibition at the Castle, after first being showcased in Lithuania. Furthermore, valuable paintings from Kyiv, featuring works by artists like Elisabeth Louise Vigée-LeBrun and Peter Paul Rubens, were brought to Warsaw for safekeeping and conservation.

To supplement these efforts, the museum offered free guided tours of its standing exhibition and conducted art therapy sessions, specifically catered for Ukrainian visitors seeking solace from the war’s atrocities. 🤝🇺🇦

🎨 Artistic Institutions Extend Compassion to Children Affected by the Ukrainian Conflict 🤝🇺🇦 Amidst the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the National Institute of Music and Dance has taken a proactive stance by initiating a comprehensive series of educational and artistic activities for Ukrainian children affected by the war and currently residing in Poland.

The Łódź Philharmonic, hosted specialized workshops and concerts as part of the "Discoverers of Music" series, catering to children aged 4–8. Additionally, they organized Baby Boom Bum sessions designed for the youngest ones (aged 0–3). A diverse array of workshops, spanning music, vocal, visual arts, organ, and handicrafts, coupled with guided tours, aimed to provide a holistic artistic experience for the children.

Simultaneously, the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk conducted artistic workshops titled "Express Yourself in Dance" and an artistic-ecological-educational program named "Butterfly" specifically for Ukrainian children. These initiatives sought to nurture self-expression through dance and raise awareness about ecological issues.

The National Forum of Music curated a series of attractions for Ukrainian children, including musical movement games with classics and vocal-language sessions under the title "With Music, Anything is Possible." The sessions, presented in a journey format, aimed to demonstrate to the children that rhythm and sounds exist everywhere, waiting to be discovered in every object and body.

In a harmonious collaboration, the Adam Mickiewicz Institute joined forces with the Berlin branch of the Pilecki Institute to curate a powerful exhibition: "Solidarity. Assistance. Freedom." This compelling narrative delved into the pivotal role of Solidarity and the invaluable support it provided. 🫶

At the heart of this exhibition was "Zabójstwo do przyjęcia," held in Berlin. Nineteen remarkable works emerged from the hands of Polish-Ukrainian artist pairs, a collaborative effort that beautifully intertwined the creativity of both nations. Why is Lviv such a unique art centre?🎨 Lviv's uniqueness as a centre of artistic and cultural life over the centuries was determined by the fact that it was located on one of the main trade routes connecting Europe with the East. The city was therefore a cultural melting pot, where the influences of various nations and religions mingled. It was inhabited by Poles, Ruthenians/Ukrainians, Jews, Armenians, Tartars, Germans, Czechs and others. It was at the meeting point of many traditions that the unique syncretism of forms and means of expression characterising the art created in Lviv's orbit of influence, especially in the Mannerist and Rococo eras, could develop.🖌️

In a powerful collaboration, the Polish State Archives and their Ukrainian counterparts are working hand in hand to safeguard and share our shared historical heritage. Archival materials have been thoughtfully transferred to the Central State Historical Archive in Lviv, with a focus on preserving these treasures and ensuring access to fire-fighting equipment. 🚒

Special contact points have been established in Przemyśl and Lublin, providing direct community access to historical archives. This initiative aims to bring people closer to their heritage and foster a deeper connection with history. 📜

On a global scale, the State Archives actively supports the exclusion of archives from the Russian Federation and Belarus from international bodies. This commitment has been echoed by the International Council of Archives, which has adopted a resolution to suspend all relations with these institutions of public character.

In a spirit of collaboration and knowledge exchange, the Polish State Archives is offering internships to Ukrainian archivists. This initiative not only supports professional growth but also strengthens the ties between our archival communities. 🫶

The commitment doesn't stop there. The continuation of the "Common Archival Heritage" project, initiated in 2022, involved state archives from Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. “Kharkiv 2022. Traces of War" was one of the most talked-about exhibitions in 2022, orchestrated by the National Museum in Wroclaw. The exhibition showcased dozens of photographs highlighting Kharkiv before and during wartime activities. 🇺🇦 The creator of these images was the photographer and graphic artist, Wasilij Golosny, who had been documenting the city's destruction and the war crimes committed by the Russian army since February 2022.

"I thought that in the 21st century, a war on such a large scale couldn't possibly occur in Ukraine. That's what I believed until the morning of February 24, 2022," confessed the exhibition's curator and Kharkiv resident, Kostiantyn Ishchenko. “The aim of the 'Kharkiv 2022. Traces of war' project is to demonstrate how our city has changed during this war, using the very same places as examples." 😢
