Today, 277,452 candidates across Rwanda began sitting for the 2025/2026 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), taking place from 7–9 July 2026.
The national launch was led by Minister of Education Joseph Nsengimana and Minister of State for Education Claudette Irere. Senior officials from the Ministry of Education and its affiliated institutions were also deployed across the country to oversee the examinations.

Both Ministers encouraged all candidates to remain confident, stay calm, and do their best. They reminded learners that the examinations are an opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and competencies they have acquired throughout their primary education.

Team Rwanda has finished 12th among 26 African countries at the 2026 Pan African Mathematics Olympiad ( ) in Yamoussoukro, Côte d'Ivoire, bringing home 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals.

Yanasabye abanyeshuri gusigasira ibyumba by'amashuri bubakiwe no gufata neza ibikoresho birimo, kugira ngo n'abazabakurikira bazabone aho bigira.
