This morning, Minister Olivier J.P. Nduhungirehe bid farewell to H.E. Khalid Musa Dafalla Musa, Ambassador of the Republic of The Sudan to Rwanda, and H.E. Dr. Christian Fellner, Ambassador of Austria to Rwanda, as they conclude their tours of duty.

This evening, PS Fidelis Mironko joined the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Kigali in celebrating the Throne Day, marking the 27th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the Throne.

In his remarks, he conveyed Rwanda’s warm congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty the King, the Government, and the people of Morocco. He also commended the longstanding friendship and the strong bilateral and multilateral relations between Rwanda and Morocco.

While attending the 49th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Minister Olivier Jean Patrick Nduhungirehe met with H.E. Amb. Bankole Adeoye, Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security (PAPS) at the African Union Commission.

Ce lundi 27 juillet 2026, le Ministre Olivier Jean Nduhungirehe a participé à la réunion du Comité ministériel sur les candidatures africaines dans le système international, tenue en marge de la 49ᵉ Session ordinaire du Conseil exécutif de l'Union africaine à Addis-Ababa.

Au cours de cette réunion, le Ministre a présenté la candidature de Mme Louise Mushikiwabo au poste de Secrétaire générale de l'Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), réaffirmant le soutien du Rwanda à son leadership et son engagement continu en faveur de la mission de l’OIF.

In Addis Ababa, Minister Olivier Jean Patrick Nduhungirehe signed the AU convention on ending violence against women and girls (AU-CEVAWG) making Rwanda the 9th signatory country.

The convention provides a comprehensive continental legal framework to prevent and respond to all forms of violence against women and girls.

Rwanda supports the convention as it aligns with Rwanda’s vision and National gender policy.

This morning in Addis Ababa, Minister Olivier Jean Patrick Nduhungirehe participated in the official opening of the 49th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union, bringing together Ministers of Foreign Affairs from AU Member States to deliberate on key continental priorities and prepare decisions for consideration by the Assembly of Heads of State and Government under the theme: "Assuring Sustainable Water Availability and Safe Sanitation Systems to Achieve Agenda 2063."

The two-day Session runs from 28–29 July 2026.
