H.E. António Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations, delivered a message at the opening of the DCO 5th General Assembly in the State of Kuwait, commending DCO for bringing together global leaders at a pivotal moment for digital cooperation.
He congratulated Secretary General Deemah AlYahya on the start of her second term and underscored the importance of inclusive prosperity in the age of AI, highlighting digital cooperation as a foundation for dialogue, trust, and stability within the Global Digital Compact.
He also reaffirmed the United Nations’ commitment to responsible AI governance, shared global standards, and working with DCO and partners to bridge the AI divide so the benefits of emerging technologies are shared by all.
