Earlier today at the Grand Anse Praslin playing field, the official CJSOI Mascot, Alda, was proudly unveiled as part of the Mass Sports activities leading up to the ongoing Games. 🎉

The event also saw the inauguration and ribbon-cutting of the new outdoor gym, with the honour done by none other than Alda the Mascot and our very own Grand Anse Praslin CJSOI athlete, Mario Feminot. 💪🏽🔥

A vibrant and energetic celebration for our youth, our athletes, and our community! Let’s keep the spirit of CJSOI alive! 🇸🇨👟

Yesterday was truly a special and unforgettable day spent in the company of our differently-abled brothers and sisters from Praslin and La Digue. Together, we embarked on a heartwarming cruise aboard the iconic Catalina, exploring the breathtaking islands surrounding our home.

This was more than just a journey, it was a celebration of inclusion, love, and community. Surrounded by joy, laughter, and the beauty of nature, we shared moments that will forever remain etched in our hearts. For me personally, it stands as one of the most touching and memorable experiences of my life, one that I will always cherish.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Baie Ste Anne District Administrator Mr. Berty Cedras , as well as all our generous sponsors, especially SEPEC and Masons Travel, whose support made this day a reality. To everyone who contributed in any way, thank you for making magic happen for our special family and all those who care for and uplift them.

On Thursday 10th April 2025, the Media, Youth, Sports And Culture Committee (MYSCC) conducted a site visit to the Beach Soccer Arena, Roche Caiman, which is currently undergoing the final phases of preparation for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. Leading the overall visit of the facilities was President of the Republic of Seychelles, and Patron of Football, H.E. Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan.

The Palais des Sports has undergone a transformation including new flooring, changing rooms and facilities, a new roof, and other safety measures. The Committee expressed their satisfaction with the progress of the development, with the estimated completion date of all repairs set for mid-April 2025.

Finally, the delegation was brought to the Beach Soccer Stadium which has been in construction for 24 days and is nearing 100% completion. MYSCC commends the swift action of the Government in taking ownership of the projects and maintaining the credibility of Seychelles in the international sports forum.

En tant que Président du Comité des Médias, de la Jeunesse, des Sports et de la Culture de l'Assemblée nationale des Seychelles, j’ai eu le plaisir d’échanger avec cette belle équipe de jeunes dynamiques et engagés, prêts à représenter fièrement notre pays sur la scène régionale.

Une génération inspirante, pleine d’idées et de passion pour faire avancer notre région.

On Wednesday 26th March 2025, the International Affairs Committee (IAC) of the National Assembly of Seychelles led by its Chairperson Hon. Waven William met with a delegation from the Legal Unit of the Foreign Affairs Department (FAD). The meeting to discuss the Amendments to the Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) (Rome Statute), is in line with the IAC’s mandate to review international agreements prior to ratification by the House.

The delegation briefly detailed the five amendments which include the definition of a ‘crime of aggression’, the inclusion of new range of weapons such as employing prohibited gases, liquids, materials or devices used during armed civil conflicts, and the deletion of Article 124 on Transitional Provision.

I’ve been involved with the Praslin Boys’ Basketball Team for years, supporting them both during competitions and in local activities. Today, I was happy to join them for a team-building activity, a great opportunity to connect with the players and continue supporting youth sports in the community.

In light of recent developments, I attended an urgent meeting with the executive committee of the Grand Anse Praslin Judo Club. Having been closely involved with the club, including supporting young athletes for various competitions, I am proud of their outstanding achievement in securing the majority of Seychelles’ gold medals at the recent Mauritian International Youth Competition. Following this success, certain concerns were raised, and I have stepped in to mediate and assist in addressing the situation. To promote transparency and engagement, an Annual General Meeting (AGM) with the parents of the young Judokas will be held soon.
