The Seychelles Ports Authority (SPA) is pleased to acknowledge the generous donation of 10 waste bins from Sustainability for Seychelles (S4S) through the UNDP Small Grants Programme (SGP)-funded project, "Tackling Climate Change through Better Management of Biodegradable Waste in Seychelles".

As part of its wider efforts to improve waste management and promote recycling, the project is supporting initiatives that encourage waste segregation and resource recovery.

The donated bins will support a pilot waste segregation initiative within the port. SPA is currently working to finalise the logistics and implementation of this project. The pilot will initially focus on the collection of redeemable waste, as well as HDPE and PP plastics, helping to divert valuable materials from the landfill and promote recycling.

SPA extends its sincere appreciation to S4S and the UNDP Small Grants Programme for their continued support. We look forward to launching this initiative and taking another step towards a cleaner, more sustainable Port Victoria. More updates to follow!

Our team at the Blue Economy Bazaar posing with Kyle from Brikole Seychelles, our partner in an exciting sustainability initiative at the Seychelles Ports Authority (SPA).

Together, we are transforming HDPE and PP plastic waste generated by the Port and our staff into durable recycled plastic benches. These benches will be installed throughout SPA’s green spaces, demonstrating how waste can be repurposed into valuable, long-lasting resources while promoting a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
