Mayor Josy Michaud-Payet met last week with the Project Engineer working on the Independence House project to review the progress of the restoration works currently underway.
She also visited the area designated for a future café, which is steadily taking shape as part of the overall project.
The Project Engineer has assured her that by 5th of June, all the hoardings in front of the site will be removed, allowing the area to present a much cleaner and more welcoming appearance ahead of the upcoming national day celebrations.
While construction activities will continue beyond that date, every effort is being made to ensure that the site remains presentable and accessible as we prepare to mark this important occasion.
