A concerted effort to preserve our heritage is a vital link to our cultural, educational, aesthetic, inspirational, and economic legacies - all the things that quite literally make us who we are - Steve Berry

HERITAGE WEEK 2022

International Monuments and sites day, is celebrated each year on the 18th of April. It was initiated by the International Committee of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) in 1982 and was approved by UNESCO in 1983.
The theme chosen by ICOMOS for the year 2022 is “Heritage and Climate, through open constructive and intergenerational dialogues”. The theme echoes a call for a wider participation of the community from various backgrounds to ensure that monuments and heritage sites are duly safeguarded for posterity.
The Seychelles National Heritage Resource Council (SNHRC) has extended the International Heritage Day to one week of activities from the 13th - 25th April 2022.

Heritage Week activities reflect our achievement and obstacles. It reconnects us with the legacies of our past and allowed us to embrace the possibilities it offers for the future, be it social, economic or political to create peace and unity.

Below is the calendar of activities to commemorate Heritage Week
