Your health is inseparable from the health of animals, plants, and the environment.

That means you can take action: to protect yourself, your family and the ecosystems around you.

- take antibiotics only when prescribed
- vaccinate your pets
- buy food from authorized vendors
- use public transport — reduce pollution exposure
- wash hands after contact with animals
- protect water sources and dispose of waste safely
- stay informed through health authorities

These are not just lifestyle tips. They are One Health in practice.

The Ministry of Health Seychelles , in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), is conducting a four-day training on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) for health professionals and surveyors from across the health system.

The training aims to build the capacity of participants to assess IPC practices across public and private health facilities in Seychelles, using standardised tools and approaches. Strong IPC systems are essential to preventing the spread of infections and ensuring the safety of both patients and healthcare workers.

Through technical sessions and field-based exercises, participants are strengthening their knowledge and practical skills to support a safer, more resilient health system for all Seychellois.

Human health is connected to the health of animals, plants and the environment around us. When one is at risk, others are affected.

That is why approach brings different sectors together - governments, scientists, health workers, and communities - to act on risks before they become crises.

Healthier ecosystems. Healthier animals. Healthier people.

These are not separate goals. They are one goal.

Demand collaboration. Protect the systems that protect us.

🌍💙 World Health Day 2026

Health is not built in hospitals alone. It starts in our homes, farms, schools, and communities.

This year's theme, "Together for Health. Stand with Science," puts the spotlight on "One Health", reminding us that the health of people, animals, plants, and the environment are all connected.

In Seychelles, that connection is real and visible every day. When we protect our ocean, our land, and our ecosystems, we protect ourselves too.

Let us trust science, support innovation, and work together for a healthier and more sustainable Seychelles for all. 🌊🌿
