On Friday 29th to Saturday 30th May 2026, the Parliamentary Green Investment Dialogue and National Capacity Building was hosted, with the aim of reinforcing Seychelles’ leadership as a Small Island Developing State (SIDS) pursuing innovative, resilient, and investment-oriented climate solutions. The event was held under the Parliamentarians for Climate Finance Project (PCF), which is being implemented by the Climate Parliament and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) with support from the Green Climate Fund (GCF).

Parliamentarians, experts, and stakeholders convened to advance Seychelles’ green transition, discussing renewable energy, climate finance, sustainable infrastructure, and policy development while exploring solutions to financing and implementation challenges, and emphasizing the crucial role of strong legislation and collaboration in building a climate-resilient future.

“Seychelles cannot afford delay, and neither can the planet.”

I was pleased to inaugurate the Seychelles Green Investment Dialogue and Capacity Building Workshop, a timely platform for strengthening parliamentary action on climate change and sustainable development.

Over the past two days, participants explored practical solutions, partnerships and investments needed to support Seychelles' transition to a resilient, responsible and investment-ready future.

My hope is that these discussions will lead to tangible action that benefits our communities, protects our environment and secures a sustainable future for generations to come.
