It was a wonderful evening of celebration at Kampong Serangoon's National Day Dinner, where residents came together to celebrate Singapore's 61st birthday and Kampong Serangoon's 20th anniversary.

A heartfelt thanks to DPM Gan Kim Yong for joining the residents for this special occasion. The evening was filled with patriotic spirit as everyone proudly waved the Singapore flag, sang familiar National Day favourites, and celebrated the strong bonds that make Kampong Serangoon such a vibrant and caring community.

Here's to many more years of friendship, unity and community spirit. Happy National Day! 🇸🇬❤️

🔥 FireSafe Starts with ACE – Action. Connect. Educate.

Our National Day & Community Resilience Carnival 2026 may have come to an end, but building a safer community continues.

We are proud to have launched FireSafe Starts with ACE, a community initiative by the Aljunied GRC & Hougang SMC Grassroots Organisations under the People's Association to strengthen fire safety awareness and emergency preparedness.

Every resident has a part to play. By taking Action, staying Connected with our neighbours, and Educating ourselves on fire prevention, together we can build a safer and more resilient community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who signed up yesterday to be a Fire Safety Ambassador (FSA). ❤️ Your willingness to serve our community is greatly appreciated. We will be in touch with you soon with details of the upcoming training sessions to equip you with the knowledge and skills to make a difference.

This is just the beginning. We aim to recruit 100 Fire Safety Ambassadors per division by 2027, with the long-term vision of having at least one Fire Safety Ambassador in every household in Aljunied & Hougang, so that every home is better prepared and every neighbour can look out for one another.

Emergencies can happen when we least expect them—but being prepared can make all the difference.

Here are a few simple ways to keep yourself and your loved ones safe: 🔥 Prevent fires by avoiding overloaded power outlets and practising safe cooking habits. 🏡 Keep your home clutter-free for a safer and quicker evacuation. 🚪 Familiarise your family with emergency escape routes and practise fire drills. ❤️ Learn what to do if someone suffers a cardiac arrest, including calling 995, performing CPR, and using an AED.
