On 7 August, our school came alive with the sights, sounds and spirit of Singapore as we celebrated National Day 2026 under the theme “Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond.”

The morning began with a proud Observance Ceremony, as Scouts marched in the National Flag, pupils sang the National Anthem and recited the Pledge, and our school band set the tone for the celebrations. 🥳

The energy soon picked up with lively dance performances and National Day songs by pupils from Primary 1 to Primary 6. The fun continued with a mass dance and Get Active Fun Play session, joined by our Kindergarten children. 💪

Beyond the performances, our pupils also took time to share what Singapore means to them and reflect on how they can play their part in our nation’s story. 🤔

Meanwhile, our children from MK enjoyed fun and meaningful hands-on activities and games related to Singapore, such as finding out about the significance of the colours on the Singapore flag and the leaders from the past and present who helped to build our nation. 🎉

It was a morning filled with pride, joy and togetherness — a celebration of who we are and a reminder to keep moving forward, together. 🥰

Learning, Moving & Growing Together! 🌱💛

This term, our G.R.O.W.ing U.P. centre initiative brought healthy habits to life through fun, interactive experiences using Health Promotion Board (HPB) resources!

Our children enjoyed an engaging puppet show to reinforce healthy habits. They also explored HPB activity booths featuring movement cards, game cards and a healthy habits board game, learning through play and interaction. 🧩🎲

Staying active continued with HPB exercise videos, while connecting with friends from another class through question-based activities. To encourage healthy screen habits, they created eye bookmarks as a reminder to take regular screen breaks. 👀

From learning and moving to making new friends, our children are growing healthy habits, one fun experience at a time! 🌈✨

Our student leaders recently came together for our Term 3 Mass Leadership Training where they reflected on their leadership journey and strengthened the skills needed to lead with confidence, responsibility and heart.

Beyond learning about their roles, our student leaders engaged in meaningful discussions, shared honest feedback on their duties and proposed ideas to improve leadership processes in our school. Through these conversations, they demonstrated their enterprising spirit and exercised student agency by contributing to decisions that will benefit their peers and the wider school community.

At West View Primary School, we believe that leadership is not about holding a position — it is about serving others, taking initiative and making a positive difference every day. We are proud of our young leaders for stepping forward with courage, empathy and a genuine desire to make our school a better place for all.

“Leadership is not about wearing a badge - it is about serving others!” encouraged the incoming Head Prefect of West View Primary School, Dafinah Binte Shah Alfi.

At this year's Prefects’ Investiture Ceremony in West View Primary School, we proudly welcomed our newly appointed Prefectorial Board as they pledged to lead with humility, kindness and respect. Through heartfelt speeches, our outgoing and incoming Head Prefects reminded everyone that true leadership is found in everyday acts of service, from helping a classmate to taking responsibility for making our school a better place.

We also celebrated the dedication of our Class Chairpersons, and Class Leaders, whose commitment helps foster a caring and inclusive school community.

Congratulations to all our newly-invested student leaders! May you continue to lead by example, inspire those around you and make a positive difference wherever you serve in our school.

Red, white, and full of excitement!

Our Primary 5 pupils had an unforgettable evening at National Education Show 3, joining thousands of Singaporeans in celebrating our nation's journey.

From singing along to our favourite National Day songs to cheering with the crowd and being wowed by the dazzling lights and performances, every moment was filled with pride and excitement.

The pupils also enthusiastically took part in the interactive quizzes, learning more about Singapore's history and heritage along the way.

Racial Harmony Day came alive at West View Primary as our West Viewans stepped into the spirit of Singapore's rich multicultural heritage. From rediscovering the stories behind Racial Harmony Day to laughing over nostalgic kampong games, every shared moment reminded us that harmony is built through understanding, respect, and friendship.

The journey continued through hands-on experiences, from exploring beautifully crafted local food models to trying traditional musical instruments, made possible by the dedication of our teachers and the support of our wonderful parent volunteers! As our pupils learned, played, and connected, they lived out our values of respect, care, and harmony, proving that some of the most meaningful lessons are the ones experienced together.

Our Primary 5 Dancers brought joy to the residents of Senja Senior Care Centre during their annual Values-in-Action (VIA) visit. Through lively dance performances, familiar songs and heartfelt conversations, they forged meaningful connections across generations while bringing smiles to the seniors.

The visit helped the girls develop empathy, confidence and respect for the elderly. Inspired by a senior's heartfelt reminder to always be kind and caring, they left with a deeper appreciation of the importance of giving back and building genuine relationships within the community.👏
