Heads up, drivers!

Changes to the Driver Improvement Points System (DIPS) take effect from 1 Jan 2027.

Know the new rules, stay safe on the roads.

𝗧𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 (𝗗𝗜𝗣𝗦)

To enhance road safety, the Singapore Police Force will be tightening the Driver Improvement Points System (DIPS) to better deter traffic violations and keep errant motorists off our roads for longer periods, effective 1 January 2027.

Key changes include:
• Lower thresholds for licence suspension and revocation
• Longer suspension periods for each suspension
• Changes to educational interventions for errant motorists

These changes reinforce the importance of responsible driving and encourage all motorists to play their part in making our roads safer for everyone.

[Clarification of Text Message]!
The Police are aware of a message circulating on Facebook and WhatsApp claiming that individuals are posing as officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs to conduct door-to-door identity verification and rob houses.

The message is false.

It is a hoax that has periodically been circulated online for several years.

Please do not be alarmed or forward the message to others.

Monthly Scams Bulletin #7 (24 July 2026)

🚨️“Microsoft” Pop-Up Alert? Do not panic!

Scammers used fake Microsoft pop-up alerts to trick victims into calling a “technical support” number.

After calling the number, victims were transferred to a fake “police officer” who allege them of being involved in criminal activities and request for access to their device(s).

Having gained access, scammers would make unauthorised transactions from victims’ bank accounts.

Protect yourself:

❌ Never call numbers shown in a pop-up alert.

✅ Always verify alerts through your software provider’s official channels.

⚠️ Remember: Microsoft does NOT include phone numbers in its error messages.

Congratulations to Woodlands Community Centre for its HomeComing event on 26 July 2026!

Woodlands East NPC was honoured to be part of this momentous event, where our officers connected with residents with crime prevention sharing through our Coffee with Cops and vRoom! booth. We even had special appearances of Ray the Lion Cub Mascot, which kept the children engaged!

This event was a reminder that a safer Woodlands begins with a closer community 🤝.

Scam Alert: Phishing Text Messages Impersonating
Courier Companies
Scammers are sending text messages or emails impersonating courier companies like NinjaVan and J&T Express, claiming your parcel could not be delivered. They trick you into clicking a phishing link that leads to a fake courier website, where you are asked to pay a small “re-delivery fee” (as low as $0.06) and enter your card details.
At least 43 cases have been reported since 24 June 2026,
with losses exceeding $259,000.
What you should do:
Access the courier’s official website or app directly instead
of clicking unsolicited links
Never enter your card details through links in unsolicited
messages

⚽☕ WE NPC levelled up at ACE The Place Community Club on 20 Jul 2026!

Expanding from our last event, we engaged over 500 residents with an e-CWC session at the live screening of the World Cup Finals! 🙌🏼🏆

Joined by Mr Vikram Nair (Adviser for Admiralty Constituency), we ditched conventional lectures for electrifying half-time quizzes and engaging pre-match security tips; tackling antiscams, unlicensed moneylending and illegal betting head-on. 🎯🚓👮🏻

It was a brilliantly spent Monday morning with our awesome community! 🎉💙

⚽☕ We kicked off an exciting Sunday morning at The Woodlands Galaxy Community Club (CC) on 12 July 2026, where Woodlands East (WE) NPC hosted its inaugural enhanced Coffee with COP (e-CWC)! 🎉 Riding on the excitement of the FIFA World Cup 2026, the event engaged more than 320 residents 👥 who gathered for the live screening of the match. 📺⚽️

We were honoured to have the event graced by Grassroots Advisers to Sembawang GRC and Sembawang West SMC. 🙌
The e-CWC brought a fresh twist to community engagement. 🤝

Instead of a traditional mode of engagements, residents received concise and practical crime prevention advisories 🛡️ before kick-off, followed by interactive quizzes ❓🏆 during half-time that kept the atmosphere lively and engaging. 🎊

Through this unique platform, we raised awareness on crimes commonly associated with major sporting events, including illegal online betting 🚫🎲 and unlicensed moneylending 🚫💰.

More importantly, it provided an opportunity for residents and officers to connect 🤝, learn 📚, and work together in keeping our community safe. 🏡

A big thank you to all residents who joined us and made the inaugural e-CWC a memorable success. ❤️ Together, we can continue to stay vigilant 👀 and score a winning goal against crime! ⚽🛡️
