Impersonation of Precious Active Aging Centre (PAAC) Staff

⚠️ Scammers are posing as “Precious Active Aging Centre (PAAC)” staff via Facebook ads or through Whatapp calls. When contacted, victims are led to believe that they are interacting with PAAC staff. They were subsequently added to WhatsApp groups where the scammers phished for personal data and urged the victims to download a malicious app that could hijack banking apps that were installed on their mobile devices.

Stay Alert!

🚨 Do not join unsolicited WhatsApp groups, share personal details, or install apps from unknown sources.

✅Never join unsolicited WhatsApp groups or install unknown apps.

✅Verify any PAAC Facebook ad or call received with the official PAAC source before acting.

✅Remember to Add Protections, Check for authenticity, and Tell others.

🎤Beware of scammers during concert season

$328,000 have already been lost to concert ticket scams in the first half of 2026!

Victims not only lost money, but also the opportunity to see their idols!

Scammers would pose as ticket sellers on online platforms and use fake screenshots of tickets and urgency tactics to pressure victims into making payment.

Victims only discover they have been scammed when tickets are not delivered, the seller becomes uncontactable or the tickets turn out to be invalid at the venue.

✅ Only buy from authorised platforms like Ticketmaster.

✅ Those with resold tickets will not be allowed into the venue and will be turned away from the concert with no refund.

✅ Call and check with the 24/7 ScamShield Helpline at 1799 if you are unsure if something is a scam! ☎️

Phishing Scams Impersonating Hotel Booking sites via WhatsApp

⚠️ Scammers are posing as hotel staff on WhatsApp, claiming your booking has failed or that payment is pending. They then send bogus links to fake websites to steal your personal and credit card details.

Stay Alert!

🚨 Do not click on any links shared through WhatsApp requesting booking verification. Fraudulent websites are often designed to closely mimic legitimate platforms.

✅Verify the reservation through the official hotel booking apps and websites or contact the hotel directly using a verified number/ email.

Government Officials Impersonation Scams involving Harvey Norman staff

Scammers have impersonated staff from Harvey Norman and called victims, claiming that they made purchases or have pending deliveries.

When victims deny making purchases, scammers would claim that victims’ personal details may have been exploited, and transfer their calls to fake MAS officers.

The fake officers would allege victims of being involved in criminal activities, and ask victims to transfer money/ hand over valuables to support “investigations.

Stay Alert!

🚨 Govt officials will never ask you to transfer money, cryptocurrencies or hand over valuables over a call.

❌ Calls cannot be transferred from any agencies to the Police or MAS.
