To enhance road safety, the Singapore Police Force will be tightening the Driver Improvement Points System (DIPS) to better deter traffic violations and keep errant motorists off our roads for longer periods, effective 1 January 2027.

Key changes include:
• Lower thresholds for licence suspension and revocation
• Longer suspension periods for each suspension
• Changes to educational interventions for errant motorists

These changes reinforce the importance of responsible driving and encourage all motorists to play their part in making our roads safer for everyone.

Received an unexpected call asking you to make urgent money transfers? 🤔

🚨 Government officials, including Police officers, will never ask you to transfer money, hand over valuables, or disclose bank log in details over phone calls — and certainly not SM Lee!

[Clarification of Text Message]

❗️The Police are aware of a message circulating on Facebook and WhatsApp claiming that individuals are posing as officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs to conduct door-to-door identity verification and rob houses.

The message is false.

It is a hoax that has periodically been circulated online for several years.

Please do not be alarmed or forward the message to others.

🚨️“Microsoft” Pop-Up Alert? Do not panic!

Scammers used fake Microsoft pop-up alerts to trick victims into calling a "technical support" number.

After calling the number, victims were transferred to a fake "police officer" who allege them of being involved in criminal activities and request for access to their device(s).

Having gained access, scammers would make unauthorised transactions from victims' bank accounts.

Protect yourself:

❌ Never call numbers shown in a pop-up alert.

✅ Always verify alerts through your software provider’s official channels.

⚠️ Remember: Microsoft does NOT include phone numbers in its error messages.

Scam Alert: Phishing Text Messages Impersonating Courier Companies

Scammers are sending text messages or emails impersonating courier companies like NinjaVan and J&T Express, claiming your parcel could not be delivered. They trick you into clicking a phishing link that leads to a fake courier website, where you are asked to pay a small "re-delivery fee" (as low as $0.06) and enter your card details.

😲 At least 43 cases have been reported since 24 June 2026, with losses exceeding $259,000.

What you should do:

✅ Access the courier’s official website or app directly instead of clicking unsolicited links

✅ Never enter your card details through links in unsolicited messages

❌ Ask you to hand over gold or valuables
