[Clarification of Text Message]

❗️The Police are aware of a message circulating on Facebook and WhatsApp claiming that individuals are posing as officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs to conduct door-to-door identity verification and rob houses.

The message is false.

It is a hoax that has periodically been circulated online for several years.

Please do not be alarmed or forward the message to others.

𝗧𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 (𝗗𝗜𝗣𝗦)

To enhance road safety, the Singapore Police Force will be tightening the Driver Improvement Points System (DIPS) to better deter traffic violations and keep errant motorists off our roads for longer periods, effective 1 January 2027.

Key changes include:
• Lower thresholds for licence suspension and revocation
• Longer suspension periods for each suspension
• Changes to educational interventions for errant motorists

These changes reinforce the importance of responsible driving and encourage all motorists to play their part in making our roads safer for everyone.

On 29 June 2026, officers from Geylang NPC and Bedok Division Crime Control Unit conducted an enforcement operation along Geylang Road. Such operations are conducted regularly to deter vice-related activities and safeguard the safety and security of our community.

The operation resulted in the arrest of three women for their suspected involvement in vice-related activities under the Women’s Charter 1961. Cash and vice-related exhibits were seized, and investigations are ongoing.

The Police will continue to take firm enforcement action against such illegal activities. We also urge landlords and property owners to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or unlawful activities to the Police.

☕🤝 Coffee with Cops – Building Connections, Raising Awareness

This school holiday, Geylang Neighbourhood Police Centre was delighted to collaborate with the Geylang Methodist Secondary School (GMSS) NPCC students for a meaningful Coffee with Cops engagement.

Together, our officers and NPCC cadets engaged members of the public over a cup of coffee, sharing valuable scam prevention tips and encouraging conversations on how everyone can stay vigilant against the latest scam tactics.

It was heartening to see our young NPCC cadets stepping forward to interact with the community, while learning the importance of community policing and public engagement firsthand.

A big thank you to the GMSS NPCC students for partnering with us and contributing to this fruitful outreach. We hope everyone who stopped by left with greater awareness and confidence to protect themselves and their loved ones from scams.

On 24 July, Geylang NPC held our latest Coffee with a Cop session at 65 BGAIN Eating House, where our officers engaged residents and stallholders, shared crime prevention advice, and raised awareness of common crime concerns.

The session was made even more meaningful with the participation of our Citizens-on-Patrol (COP) Volunteers. A big thank you to all our COP Volunteers for your continued support, commitment, and dedication to keeping our community safe!
