Joined Professor Tommy Koh at the launch of "The Straits of Malacca and Singapore: A Model for the World"! 🚢🌊

Nearly a quarter of the world's seaborne trade passes through these waters. For over half a century, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore have worked together to improve navigational safety along the Straits. Even when there were differences in views, we did not allow these to paralyse cooperation, because all three countries recognised that keeping our waterways safe, secure and open was in everyone's best interests.

Keeping the Straits open, safe and secure will take the work of every generation of leaders. My congratulations to Professor Koh, the editors and everyone who brought this book together.

Ever wondered what it takes to keep our buses running safely and reliably every single day?

Come with me as we go behind the scenes at Tower Transit Singapore to uncover the people, tech, and teamwork that keep Singapore moving.

What would you like me to explore next behind the scenes of our transport family?

Met India’s Minister of Finance, Nirmala Sitharaman on the sidelines of the annual India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable to discuss our bilateral cooperation.

India is a key market for our companies, and there are numerous opportunities for us to cooperate at the national and state level. We will continue to strengthen our bilateral relationship through the ISMR platform, and together with companies on both sides deepen investment and create new trade and travel opportunities.

Joined DPM Gan Kim Yong and some members of our startup community at JTC LaunchPad @ one-north as part of our regular engagements.

Startups need talent, capital and markets. We discussed how our regulations can better support innovation and strengthen the startup ecosystem, and give our companies a leg up in local and overseas markets.

Our economy thrives when MNCs and local companies succeed together. A vibrant startup ecosystem is part of that. We will keep working side by side with our companies to build stronger capabilities and compete successfully in global markets.

Did an interview with《联合早报》’s Lee Ching Yee, one of their most experienced reporters. The parts in Mandarin on camera were a little challenging! But always a first time for everything. 😊

Celebrated Singapore’s 61st birthday with more than 500 Brickland-Tengah residents today! 🇸🇬❤️ It was extra special to do so as we officially opened The Bricks.

Five years ago, The Bricks was just an idea. Today, it is a new space for residents to gather, stay active and spend time together. Looking forward to seeing many more memories made here in the years ahead!

Our MRT network reliability has improved in the last six months, with MKBF staying above 2 million train-km for some time now.

This is all due to the efforts of our rail workers. Much of their hard work happens behind the scene, often in the late hours of the night when everyone else is sleeping. I am grateful for their dedication and effort.

I also wanted to credit the Rail Reliability Taskforce for working together to implement their recommendations. Good leadership is crucial for a complex system like the MRT to perform well.

Happy to celebrate the achievements with the teams. Hope to have more such durian parties in the future (https://www.facebook.com/share/r/19DhQxf4uL/?mibextid=wwXIfr)

Our warmest welcome to 47 of our new Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Land Transport Authority – We Keep Your World Moving and Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore - MPA scholars, who have joined the MOT family!

Was especially thrilled to present the scholarship to Sim Zhi Hui, who is a second generation LTA officer. I worked together with his father, Mr Sim Wee Meng, when I was in MOT from 2012-17 as a civil servant. Mr Sim was with LTA for 39 years, and is renowned for his generosity in training young officers. However, what I remember the most was how he took no nonsense from contractors, who feared him because of his knowledge and expertise.

Congratulations to every one of the recipients. Enjoy your time in school and we look forward to your return and contributions!

BMX action at The Bricks! 🚴

The Cycle Park hosted the Singapore BMX Racing National Championships and Singapore Youth Olympic Festival on Singapore’s first dedicated national BMX racing track.

The Bricks is for our residents too, a place to cycle, stay active and spend time together. I look forward to opening it on 𝟏𝟓 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭, alongside our Brickland-Tengah National Day celebrations. See you there! 🇸🇬
