AGBSD Project aims to improve resource management, transparency and accountability of government systems for enabling delivery of local development projects and basic services.

The Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs is not just the parent Ministry of the Local Councils, but also has the Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) which is under its purview as one of the implementing Units of the Accountable Governance Project - Sierra Leone.

In the implementation of the DDCCs which is being hosted in all Local District Councils across the country, the Ministry and its Decentralization Secretariat have been super supportive to the Local Councils to have functioning DDCCs.

The Rural Development Directorate in the Ministey of Planning and Economic Development (MoPED) on Friday 31st Juny ended its fourth and final regional level engagements in a roll, dubbed as Promoting DDCCs Activities in Bo, South of the country.

With funding support from the Accountable Governance Project - Sierra Leone, the Rural Development Directorate, MoPED has on Monday and Tuesday facilitated stock taking Regional DDCC engagements in the North and Northwest Regions respectfully.

The events brought together all Local Councils, INGOs and CSOs reps, devolved sector leads, Paramount Chiefs, media and direct community beneficiaries to share success stories triggered from recommendations and action points taken from DDCCs in all the districts in the regions since the inception of DDCCs in 2022/2023.

The ongoing regional promotion of District Development Coordination Committees (DDCCs) Activities across the country is on the theme: DDCCs is a trusted platform that fosters accountability and inclusive community development.
