Shaping the Roadmap for a Productive 2026/2027 Financial Years: Developing the 2026/2027 SLEITI Work Plan

On February 19, 2026, the Sierra Leone Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (SLEITI) Multi-Stakeholders Group (MSG) convened a Stakeholders’ Consultative Workshop to formulate the 2026/2027 SLEITI MSG work plan.

This gathering brought together representatives from government, extractive companies, civil society, development partners, and the media, all committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance within Sierra Leone's extractive sector

The stakeholders’ consultative workshop fulfills a mandatory requirement (Req1.5) of the EITI Standard, which aims to:

Gather stakeholders' input and recommendations to ensure the new work plan is fully costed, aligns with a collective vision, and tackles key challenges in line with national development priorities and EITI Standard requirements to enhance transparency and public trust.

This consultative process is vital, as the strength of SLEITI lies in its multi-stakeholder approach. By incorporating stakeholders' contributions, experiences, and perspectives, SLEITI creates a realistic, impactful, and results-oriented work plan for 2026–2027 that will put Sierra Leone in a strong footing for effective EITI implementation in 2026 and 2027.
