Governor of Eastern Equatoria State Addresses Peace and Elections in Kapoeta North County
Today, the Governor of Eastern Equatoria State held a meeting in Kapoeta North County.
The key points highlighted by the state government.
1.Peace among neighboring communities
The Governor emphasized the need for peace, especially as elections are approaching. He called on all communities to live together peacefully.
2.Call for calm over the killing of Hon. Lowesio
On the killing of the late Commissioner Hon. Lowesio of Kapoeta East County, the Governor urged the people of Toposa to remain calm. He assured that the government is continuing with investigations and that those responsible will be brought to justice.
3. Statements from County Leadership
Hon. David Nayee, Commissioner of Kapoeta North County, said that peace between the Lopit community should remain strong with government support.
4. SPLM Message
The Assistant Secretary of SPLM in EES urged that peace between the Lotuko and Toposa communities be promoted, “so that our cattle can graze together and we can live as one community.”
The Governor supported this idea inspired by the SPLM Secretary.
The leadership called on all citizens of Kapoeta North County to stay united and get prepared for the coming elections.
