JUBA, 2 SEPTEMBER 2026 β€” H.E. Emmanuel Adil Anthony, Governor of Central Equatoria State, chaired the Extraordinary Council of Ministers Sitting No. 6 of 2026, reaffirming the State Government’s commitment to peace, security, protection of civilians and public assets, and effective service delivery ahead of the general elections.

The Council noted improved security and stability across the State, with isolated incidents being contained by authorities.

The Council also approved, subject to amendments, the Draft Budget, Draft Appropriation Bill and Draft Financial Bill for FY 2026/2027, with a proposed budget of SSP 108.2 billion.

The Government reaffirmed its commitment to peace, good governance, protection of public resources and improved service delivery across Central Equatoria State.

MINISTER VIATO RESOLVES BORDER DISPUTE BETWEEN YARU, DORA AND GWARI BOMAS OF LURI PAYAM

Monday, 24 August 2026 | Juba

Hon. Viato Wani Swaka, State Minister of Housing, Land and Public Utilities, Central Equatoria State, has successfully resolved a critical border dispute involving Yaru, Dora and Gwari Bomas of Luri Payam.

The dispute between Yaru and Dora, as well as Yaru and Gwari, was peacefully resolved through dialogue and mutual understanding among the communities.

Minister Viato emphasized the importance of brotherhood, unity and peaceful coexistence, stressing that land disputes should never divide communities that share common bonds.

In attendance were Eng. Juma Nanthana, Director of Lands, and Mr. Elisama, Director of Administration and Finance in the Ministry.

Hon. Nuna Rhoda Rudolf, National Minister of Gender, Child and Social Welfare, today paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Viato Wani Swaka, State Minister of Housing, Land and Public Utilities, Central Equatoria State, at his office in Juba.

The two Ministers discussed areas of collaboration, particularly the technical aspects of the ongoing construction of the new building for the National Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare.

Eng. John Bullen, 1st Director General of the State Ministry of Housing, Land and Public Utilities, provided technical guidance during the meeting.

Hon. Viato Wani Swaka appreciated the visit and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to providing the necessary technical support and ensuring proper supervision of the construction works to promote quality, durability, and long-term sustainability of the building.

The Executive Director of Juba County, Mr. Alfateh Morgani Ajal, today paid a courtesy visit to the State Minister of Housing, Lands and Public Utilities, Hon. Viato Wani Swaka, to congratulate him on his appointment and reaffirm the commitment to strengthening cooperation between Juba County and the Ministry.

The Central Equatoria State Minister of Housing, Lands and Public Utilities, Hon. Viato Wani Swaka, today received an invitation from the leadership of the Central Equatoria State Youth Union to attend the official reception of its newly elected leadership.

The invitation was presented by the Chairperson of the Central Equatoria State Youth Union, Adv. Aggrey Duku Arkangelo, who invited the Minister to the official reception scheduled for Friday, 7 August 2026, at 9:30 AM at the Youth Training Centre.

During the visit, Adv. Aggrey Duku expressed his appreciation to Hon. Viato Wani for the warm reception at his office and for his continued support and commitment to empowering the youth of Central Equatoria State.

In his remarks, Hon. Viato Wani congratulated the new leadership and encouraged them to champion peace, unity, and cooperation among the youth. He urged the Union to work in the best interest of the State while fostering collaboration with young people from all six other states and the three Administrative Areas to promote lasting peace and national unity across South Sudan.

The State Minister of Housing, Lands and Public Utilities, Central Equatoria State, Hon. Viato Wani Swaka, today received a courtesy visit from a delegation of the SPLM Lobonok Payam Secretariat led by the Chairperson, Cde. James Paulino, accompanied by Cde. Diana Richard.

The delegation briefed the Minister on the ongoing preparations for the launch of the SPLM Membership Registration exercise in Lobonok Payam, scheduled for 8 August 2026.
