Dear Esteemed Members of the Leadership, Comrades, and Supporters of our great and historical SSANU Party,

On the joyous occasion of Christmas and the New Year, I extend my heartfelt greetings, encouragement, and best wishes to you all. May this festive season bring renewed hope, unity, and strength to our families, our party, and our beloved nation.

The past period has not been easy. Our party, like the entire nation, has faced serious financial and economic challenges which have inevitably slowed the pace of some of our planned political and organizational activities. However, these challenges have not weakened our resolve. Instead, they have strengthened our commitment and deepened our sense of responsibility to the people of South Sudan. As we approach 2026, we do so with renewed hope, determination, and confidence in a better future.

In this spirit, I wish to bring to your attention an important national development. Yesterday, the National Elections Commission (NEC) officially announced the 102 geographical constituencies for the 2026 general elections across our 10 states and administrative areas, based on the 2010 boundaries, due to delays in the national census. This announcement is a significant milestone and a critical step toward the realization of democratic elections in our country.

The state-by-state breakdown is as follows:
• Central Equatoria State: 14 constituencies
• Eastern Equatoria State: 11 constituencies
• Western Equatoria State: 8 constituencies
• Jonglei State (including Greater Pibor Administrative Area): 17 constituencies
• Unity State (including Ruweng Administrative Area): 7 constituencies
• Upper Nile State: 12 constituencies
• Lakes State: 8 constituencies
• Northern Bahr el Ghazal State: 9 constituencies
• Western Bahr el Ghazal State: 4 constituencies
• Warrap State (including Abyei Administrative Area): 12 constituencies

This clear delineation of constituencies lays the bedrock for South Sudan’s democratic process and provides a framework upon which political parties, including SSANU, can organize, mobilize, and prepare effectively. The NEC has further indicated that detailed constituency maps and names will soon be published on its official website and in print media.

I call upon all SSANU members, supporters, and fellow citizens to actively support this process by ensuring voter registration and full participation in the upcoming elections. Together, we must take ownership of our nation’s democratic transformation.

I wish to reaffirm that the SSANU Party, as one of the signatory parties to the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS), remains fully committed to the collective agreement to return power to the citizens of our republic through free, fair, and timely elections in December 2026, as stipulated in the peace agreement. This is a historic responsibility that we must all uphold.

I therefore call upon all members and supporters of SSANU, both at home and in the diaspora, to begin preparing for a year full of political activities and mobilization, despite the existing financial constraints. Our strength lies in our unity, discipline, and unwavering belief in our vision.

The SSANU Party remains firmly committed to the principles of democracy, constitutionalism, and the peaceful transfer of power. Together, we shall continue to stand for justice, equality, and the aspirations of our people.

May the New Year bring peace, stability, and prosperity to our nation.

May God bless South Sudan.

Yours in service and struggle,
Hon. Bol Toby Maduot, MP

Message from Bol Toby Maduot, Acting President of SSANU
On the Commemoration of the 1955 Torit Mutiny and the Legacy of the SANU Struggle
August 18, 2025

Dear compatriots, members of the SSANU Party, and the proud people of South Sudan,

Today, we stand united in solemn remembrance of a turning point in the history of our nation, the 1955 Torit Mutiny. It was on this day, seventy years ago, that brave sons of South Sudan, in the face of oppression and marginalization, rose to defy injustice and sounded the first cry for freedom. The mutiny was not just an isolated military revolt; it was a declaration of identity, dignity, and resistance against a system that refused to recognize us as equals.

Out of the ashes of this bold uprising emerged a political movement, the Sudan African National Union (SANU) , formed by courageous civilian leaders and intellectuals who carried the torch ignited in Torit and transformed it into a national struggle for self-determination. SANU became the political voice of the South, calling for justice, federalism, and ultimately independence.

As the South Sudan African National Union (SSANU), we are the proud inheritors of this legacy. We carry forward the dreams of Fr. Saturnino Ohure, Joseph Oduho, William Deng Nhial, and other founders of SANU, whose sacrifices laid the groundwork for our liberation. We honor the gallant soldiers of Torit, whose courage awakened a generation.

This commemoration is not merely about remembering the past, it is a call to recommit ourselves to the values that guided our forebears: unity, justice, integrity, and a relentless pursuit of peace and progress. Their struggle was for the dignity of every South Sudanese and that work remains unfinished.

As SSANU, we reaffirm our commitment to building a nation worthy of their sacrifice, a South Sudan that is democratic, inclusive, and prosperous. Let us stand together, as our heroes did in 1955 and 1963, to protect our hard-won freedom and to deliver the promise of self-determination in its truest sense: self-governance, self-reliance, and self-respect.

May the memory of the Torit Mutiny inspire us.
May the legacy of SANU guide us.
And may our unity as a people sustain us on the path toward a better South Sudan.

Long live the memory of the Torit Mutiny!
Long live the legacy of SANU!
Long live the Republic of South Sudan!

MEETING REPORT OF SOUTH SUDAN AFRICAN NATIONAL UNION (SSANU)

DATE: FRIDAY, JUNE 20, 2025
LOCATION: SSANU HEAD OFFICE, JUBA,

Today, the Acting President of the South Sudan African National Union (SSANU), Hon. Bol Tobi Maduot, convened a vital meeting at the main secretariat with both the party leadership and ordinary members. The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss the party's activities for the current year, as well as preparations for the upcoming elections scheduled for 2026.
Two significant agenda items were addressed extensively, and recommendations were duly noted for immediate action. The first discussion point centered on the preparations required for the SSANU party ahead of the anticipated elections. It is crucial for the party to lay down plans and strategies that will enhance its competitiveness and presence during the electoral period.
The second topic of discussion involved the official resumption of party activities at both the head office and across the states and three administrative areas. This resumption is essential for revitalizing the party's grassroots engagement and ensuring that members participate actively in their communities.
In his opening remarks, Acting President Hon. Bol Tobi Maduot provided a comprehensive briefing to the party members about the ongoing implementation of the R-ACCESS initiative. He also briefed the members about the recently reconstituted high-level committee, which was formed and publicly announced over National TV (SSBC) last week. This committee aims to ensure that the government aligns its activities with national priorities and the aspirations of the people of South Sudan.
Acting President Maduot urged all members of SSANU to prepare for the upcoming elections by actively engaging with the citizenry. He emphasized the importance of cooperation among members and the broader community, stating, "Our party stands for peace. We want one government that represents all people." He stressed that unity and a shared vision are critical for the party's success.
In addition, the Acting President instructed the state leadership and those from the three administrative areas to collect registration forms to facilitate the registration of new members. He highlighted the necessity of issuing party IDs to new members, which is vital for maintaining an organized and recognized membership base.
Members were encouraged to partake in upcoming meetings scheduled at the head office coming Friday. It is essential for all SSANU members to be well-informed and engaged in discussions about party directions and strategies.
During the meeting, the Acting President had the pleasure of welcoming a new member, Mrs. Sarah Look, who previously served as the Minister of Public Services in Gok State during the era of 32 states. Her experience and expertise will undoubtedly be an invaluable asset to the party. Mrs. Look received a warm welcome from the leadership and all members present, signifying a collective commitment to working together for the advancement of SSANU.
Additionally, the Acting President shared that he had recently returned from a brief trip to the United States, where he attended his daughter's graduation. His personal commitment to family and dedication to public service inspire members of the party.
The meeting was well attended by various key figures within the party, including the President of SSANU hon. Philip Paliet, Party Secretary General Hon. Sunday Felix, Vice President Hon. John Paul, and many other colleagues and supporters. Their presence underscores the solidarity and unity of purpose among SSANU leadership and members.
As the meeting drew to a close, the Acting President expressed gratitude to everyone for their attendance and active participation. He reiterated the importance of working together towards a common vision for SSANU and the people of South Sudan.

May God bless SSANU!

PRAYERS OF LATE MAMA SARAH PAULO LAKU MENDA
SUN: RISE 09/01/1962
SUN: SET 06/05/2025

Report on Hon. Margret Aru Bol's Speech During Prayers for the Late Mama Sarah Paulo Laku Menda representing SSANU party.

On the occasion of the prayers held for the late Mama Sarah Paulo Laku Menda, Hon. Margret Aru Bol, an esteemed Member of Parliament representing the SSANU party and a relative of the deceased, delivered a heartfelt speech that resonated with the attendees.

Hon. Margaret began by acknowledging everyone present at the gathering, emphasizing the profound sorrow felt not just by Mama Sarah's immediate family, but also by in-laws, family friends, the SSANU party, and the nation as a whole. She recognized the collective grief shared during this difficult time, highlighting that such moments remind us of our human fragility. Hon. Shared the great roles Played by Mama Sarah to SSANU party during her days on earth. It was the deceased and her late husband Dr. Toby Maduot that led to the liberation of South Sudan.

As a family member, she shared her connection to the deceased, noting her marriage to Gen. Majak Arol, and indirectly referring to the late Mama Sarah’s husband, Dr. Toby Maduot, who was known for his generosity and kindness. She expressed that Mama Sarah's departure is a testament to the belief that life on earth is temporary and that everyone has a divine mission to fulfill. When that mission concludes, God calls us home, which she articulated as a comforting perspective regarding Mama Sarah's passing.

Hon. Margaret reflected on Dr. Toby's loving nature and his legacy of sharing his resources with others, reinforcing the values of community and solidarity that he instilled in those around him. She assured the grieving family that the entire SSANU party stands in unwavering support, ready to offer help and companionship during both sorrowful and joyous moments.

In her closing remarks, Hon. Margaret encouraged the children of the deceased—two daughters and a son—to remain strong and to turn to God, who is the ultimate source of hope and comfort. She aptly concluded with the reminder that life is governed by divine will, stating, "God gives and takes," which captures the essence of their faith during this painful yet reflective time.

Hon. Margaret's speech was not only a tribute to Mama Sarah Paulo Laku Menda but also an encouragement for her family to find strength in each other and their faith as they navigate their loss.
The prayers were conducted by catholic priests.

May God bless you all

POSITION PAPER OF SSANU PARTY

Together, Let’s Say No to the Cycle of Violence.
As politicians and political leaders, we must take a stand: it is time to separate politics from the military. We must reject the notion that strength and force are the only ways to protect ourselves from one another. True protection lies not in arms, but in cultivating a spirit of peace, dialogue, and forgiveness.
Violence only breeds more violence.

It is time to choose a different path. Let us embrace reconciliation, understanding, and unity. SSANU offers a new path grounded in peaceful solutions, national healing, and collective progress.

SSANU offers hope, unity, and a future built on peace.

Together, we can break the cycle. Together, we can build a future our children will be proud of.
SSANU is for PEACE 💚
